Anyway, if OT cleared then you should be good. I had several LH bookings on SK metal which did not even offer the option while OS/SK mix always offered and even cleared for one trip (CPH-FRA-GRZ-VIE-CPH, first leg on SK, rest on OS, all on 257-ticket). I guess OS either doesn't care or has an agreement with OT.
It did not go through... for whatever reason.

Will be flying OSL-BOO [Bodø] next week.

I see the UG offer would be EUR28.

Given that I have * gold (via SQ and UA), I would be paying for the meal onboard (which I assume will be a small snack box) and a seat in the forward part of cabin.

I wouldn't mind paying this, but it seems the EUR28 doesn't give me much over and above what I would get via * alliance status?

It would only make sense if you want the double amount of miles which come with the upgrade

Did you check Plus pricing during booking? Usually Plus to SPU is cheap, have even also seen Plus on ARN-OSL-SPU cheaper than ARN-SPU Go.

I booked through an OTA, which have me significantly lower price than SAS website

I also called SAS 1h after booking regarding SAS Plus upgrade and it was 3-4x more expensive than Optiontown

Shall I write them a mail back stating that their product is better than their command of the English language? I mean, it's feedback, isn't it? If it wasn't from Optiontown only asking me to 'like their status', I'd assume it was one of those good old scam mails.

Congrats! My experience is that most of short haul goes through anyway, due to the lack of dedicated seats for each (lack of) service class.

Then I am confident that the return flight will be upgraded as well.

Question: Does also the cancellation and rebooking policy change with SAS Plus Upgrade through OT?

It should as you're essentially issued a new revenue ticket, your booking class changes and you should be rebooked accordingly in the event of a cancellation. After an OT has gone through you should be treated according to your new booking class.

Not to my experience, my experience has been:

Rebooking on SK operated flights:
- same class as OT upgrade if space available
- downgrade to original booking class if no space available and refund by OT. They will not accommodate your for days in a hotel until a free SK operated flight with a free seat in the upgraded booking class is available.

Rebooking on any other carrier:
- original booking class applies and refund from OT

Had it quite a lot of times from the US and was rerouted on SK, LH or UA and always worked the same way. Also git this confirmed by friends and collgeagues with the same experience.

Just once I was rerouted in LX C class from China, but I think this was a mistake by the agent and pure luck on my side.

I only have one experience with it. We sorted an OT Upgrade Plus to Business for the Mrs. When SK904 was cancelled she was rerouted in Business on UA68.

Similar to paid upgrades on domestic US flights, once you've paid for the upgrade you are treated according to the new service level.

Might have been easier and cheaper for them to go that way since there is no Plus no UA and it would have been trouble to downgrade her to Economy, pay downgrade compensation and refund the OT money

I usually upgrade Go - Business and it worked always like I said before... who knows...
