I did a conversion to Iberia on 4th October. In the confirmation email I just noticed that it stated 'Your Iberia Plus account will be credited with 3000 Avios within 6-8 weeks.'
I was under the impression Iberia conversions didn't take long. Is that wildly off or do I really have that long to wait? |
Iberia avios usually post the next Tuesday morning after redemption. If they don't, it may be a glitch (they happen a bit more than with other programs) and still post in a few weeks.

The '6-8 weeks' seems pretty boilerplate for all the awards. The majority of them post a lot sooner than that.
|
Anybody redeemed for Avios.com avios recently? I am waiting quite long for them to post...
|
Has anyone tried a Hertz redemption beyond the one per quarter that is allowed? What would happen if I tried to redeem for another Hertz award beyond the one allowed? They will block it?

Just another data point: I redeemed $65 for 550 Hertz points on Monday, October 3. They were in my account three days later (October 6). :D

E-Rewards are paying LESS than what's advertised
Did a survey for Uber. They promised $10.00. Got $5.00
Did a survey for TD Bank. They promised $5.00. Got $3.00. Did a survey for Wegman's. They promised $6.25. Got $3.25 Someone from the EPA is inside E-Rewards, I think. Drill, Baby, Drill! :D |
Oddly, I had one go in my favor earlier today- it said $2.50 but seemed a bit longish for that and posted at $4.00. My guess is that it sometimes DQs you right off the bat and instead of sending you back to the 'do you want to try again?' or the 'no more surveys' message, it instantly redirects to a different survey in the pool that may or may not match he value of the first screen. I also get some surveys where the topic on the first screen (automobile, personal finance, etc.) doesn't necessarily match the topic I get in the survey, even though they try to keep the topics pretty generic.
|
Survey expired half way through it
In the last two weeks I have noticed that after answering several questions I will get a "sorry this survey has expired." It does not give partial credit. Yesterday I was online when a survey came in, started it, answered a dozen or so questions then got the "expired" screen. Fishy as always.

email the customer support - they have been quite good to keep you whole in the few incidents I complained about this year. Had one a few days ago, shown 75% complete after 16 min, on a 20 min survey (Beverage). Then the next screen threw me out as not eligible. Emailed the complain immediately. They credited the account the next day with a reply - the system gave $0.25 on the $5 survey and they posted $4.75 manually.

Two weeks on and still nothing. Looks like it's going to be March 2016 all over again. No one was getting their rewards. I really don't like their 'don't contact us for 35 days' rule. |
After the previous two quarters not posting points to Hertz and needing to email a few times after the 4-6wk waiting period to get them, it seems they've corrected the issue. Redeemed for Hertz this month and it posted within a week.
|
Did a survey for Japan, got the $5.00 as promised-----took about 40 minutes, was told it would be 15 minutes.
Did a political survey, was promised $5.00, got $4.00 instead. All the other surveys that promised $0.25 or $0.50 partial credit, received $0.00 for all. E-Rewards tweaked their system to go directly to "another survey offer", claiming they are giving partial credit at the same time. They have not been giving partial credit. It must be the usual evil Marc Zuckerberg "hide the error" mentality at E-Rewards, I suppose. |
I get partial credit every time I do not qualify. $0.25 every time.
You might need to wait a few hours for it to post however. |
I've received more credit than promised more than once. It doesn't even out the errors against my favor, but I just consider the errors part of the game.
|
had an offer for 800 points for a 40 min but screened out

I'm now so skeptical that these surveys will pay off that if I see anything in the first 20-25 questions that requires deep consideration, I just dump out. I'm so tired of concentrating on handing over a bunch of data detail, THEN being told I don't qualify. If my earnings off this system go down, fine. |
Now that I am earning more points than I can usefully spend, I have started to deliberately disqualify on surveys that do not appear likely to interest me. For example, the other day I answered a question about purchasing men's dress shirts by saying that I had not purchased any in the past year. That is just not a topic that excites me.

I stick with a lot fewer surveys these days because so many are poorly or incompetently written. |
Right now, I'm in 'hit everything' mode. I'm just shy of the redemption that will put me over the top for IHG Spire and am so ready to just get that taken care of, lest I have to actually earn my status by paying for a one night hotel stay or something.

Has anyone done time/return analysis on which survey firm is the most rewarding for time /effort spent on these surveys? Is it e-miles, e-rewards, Points For Surveys, or any other website?
|
IMHO, that (even within the MAJOR OVERHAUL they've been having lately) it would be MyPoints (5 disqualifications cap / day for 25 MyP's or slightly > 15 cents, each disqual lasting < 2 minutes, sometimes < 1). The only completed survey that had me unhappy on MyPoints was an Ipsos one (20-25 minutes for just 49 MyP's or close to 30 cents).
The most satisfying surveys are the WayPoint (pop unexpectedly) ones on eRewards. They always end for me with an error, but they always seem to credit them as fulfilled at the full 4-6 "dollars" (their currency) rate. No much waste of time... PS: Because of my location (quite often the 00xxx US zipcode will disqualify me) my percentage of qualified surveys may be lower than some, even as sometimes I use one of my relatives' FL one... |
For DQ purposes, it's hard to beat 5 DQs at 10 Jet Blue points each at Points for Surveys.
I do like Club Opinions for return rate since I actually like Accor's Ibis/Novotel sorts of properties and I've got a European trip planned next year where I can use the vouchers. I wish it was 5 completed surveys for each SSI program per day instead of five completions across all their programs because I'd like to do a Jet Blue/Accor/United rotation with them. But overall, e-Rewards is, IMO, one of the better options for my needs- can typically get three surveys a day from them and the return can be good if you know how to pick the 'right' program redemptions. For cash/paypal, I like Prize Rebel- do pretty well with the 'Your Surveys' when husband inssits on watching Something Awful on the tv. |
Another question about Hertz redemptions. I realize you cannot redeem more than quarterly, but what if I have two separate e-rewards accounts? Has anyone tried getting around this constraint by using e-rewards accounts with Hertz or any other reward member that has a limit on the number of redemptions?
|
Which redemptions - apart from United - are posting instantly?

I didn't check my Hilton account until about five days after that redemption but they were there and it's possible it was instant. I did the $25 Best Buy gift card and had that card emailed to me within 5 minutes. I did the $50 Starbucks redemption and had that card immediately. |
For me, Hilton redemption used to be immediate. Now, it takes about a day.
|
IHG appears in my account the following Tuesday morning after redemption as others have also said, even if I've redeemed fairly late on Monday night. So that one's apparently a weekly sweep and dump.
Anyone know the schedule for Accor points posting? |

I'm heading towards three weeks' wait for my Iberia avios now. And the worst thing is that it's still two weeks before E-Rewards will chase it up.
Is everyone else still in the same boat, waiting for avios awards? |

My current point balance is already spent down for 2017 travel and if I can sneak a e-rewards redemption in by Monday night when they do 'the sweep', it would get me IHG Spire's 25k amenity bonus and I'd have enough for a quick pointbreak trip over US Thanksgiving when those go on sale a few days later.
