It is not bad. 20,000 points get's you $400 in "ticket cash" to buy any airline ticket you want. so you can value each point at up to 2 cents each so the $100 e-reward could mean $40 this way.

I didn't know about the Flexperk option. That could come in handy.

You can't enrol by yourself. Set the communication options in you reward program to receive the biggest quantity of spam, and they may send you an invitation to e-rewards.

The Hertz redemption is pretty darn good if you rent cars.

Sure, the Pointbreaks 5,000-point redemption deals are a wonderful value, IF you can use them! They tend to be offered as a way to drum up business in less-visited and/or off-season locations, and, though I've been looking at them regularly over the past few years, I have NEVER yet found a Pointbreaks deal that I would be able to use! So I wouldn't base my e-rewards redemptions on the assumption that I would get a Pointbreaks deal.

Besides all that, you can easily PURCHASE 5,000 PC points for a mere $30 cash (as part of a points and cash redemption/reservation, which you can then cancel and retain the points).* When you consider how VERY easy and VERY cheap it is to get those PC points by other means, maybe the redemption of $100 in e-rewards currency for only 4,000 of them (not even 5,000!) doesn't seem quite so attractive after all. @:-)


* OK, now you have to pay $60 cash for 10,000 points, or else $40 for 5,000 points.

Might be - if you get them. Mine was redeemed over a month ago and hasn't posted yet. I emailed customer service this weekend - so far nothing (but they have always been great in the past).

Oh, there's more than that. My eRewards account lets me transfer not only to the ones you mention but also Choice and eMiles, which can both be sent to US for two more hits!

I haven't used e-rewards in years, essentially I stopped using it and closed my account once I could no longer get points/miles for multiple programs. The account I was using became restricted to only one airline. Then I realized that I had an old account that wasn't affiliated with a specific airline sponsor, so I kept that one and cancelled the old one. The problem was that I never got any e-rewards offers at the new account. Eventually I forgot about it. Now if I try to log in I get an error stating that the account has been deactivated (although interestingly, I just searched my inbox and I see that I received a new survey earlier this month (the first one in years)).

So I'm wondering if there are e-rewards accounts out there that allow rewards for multiple airlines or hotels. I've recently received invitations from Hilton and Delta.

If you receive an invitation from a hotel program, you'll have all the airlines and only that hotel program. If you receive from an airline, you'll have only that airline and all hotel programs. If you receive from something that is not a hotel or airline (like Blockbuster or Hertz), you'll have access to any program.
An exception is British Airways, they allow access only to their program.

Thanks for your quite useful response. I guess my best bet in the short term is to use my invitation from Hilton, as I'm most interested in being able to have the ability to occasionally deposit miles into airline accounts that I'm not using much, so I don't lose miles. Airline consolidation has made managing my family's varying accounts easier, but it's still a challenge.

E-Miles also has eRewards as one of their 5 point clicks right now, so that's a back-door sign-up method. In theory, you get 100 E-Miles points once you do your first eR survey.

I have both e-Miles and e-Rewards (redemption options with dozens of sponsors) but don't see or know what a 5-point click is. I probably should know by now, but can you elaborate?
