WHY would anyone not post their PC points into their account?

Suffice it to say that . . .

legitimate PC points and BONUS PC points promptly entered to an account
don't expire.

With this warning caveat . . .

Like airline airmiles, certificates and vouchers, PC has rules about
NOT selling or bartering their PC points as does Coca-Cola MCR
program have rules about NOT buying/selluing MCR rewards via eBay
or other auction sites....

Anypne foolish or dumb enough that buys and or sells
or barters this stuff on eBay or other auction --
or even is THINKING about doing so --
is asking for
their own well-deserved troubles, --all at their own risk
for being stupid clods. :p

Wouldn't "I don't know" have sufficed? ;)

Here's a reason for not depositing PC awards into your account immediately upon receipt:

Consider a husband and wife (and maybe their kids as well). Each person is accumulating PC points towards a specific set of awards, which they plan to redeem at the end of 2009. One or more of the family members will likely be short the required number of points when they go to redeem, but they don't know which member(s) or by how much. If they deposit the points now, they may put the points into an account that turns out not to need them by the redemption date, leaving the other account(s) short. By waiting until just before redemption, they can allocate the points as needed into the necessary account(s).

Whether or not this violates the terms of the MCR award is a totally separate issue, but if this can be done, it's a smart use of the awards.

I saw the exp. date of PC codes from MCR somewhere. It is/was a year or so into the future. Bob's point is excellent, but I usually deposit mine immediately lest I lose/ forget a code.

while your scenario is possible and I can see it with a hubby and wife; the kid part seems a bit out of reach. Even the hubby/wife thing seems like most of the time; they know who will have the most points as well.. in other words it just seems to risky to me to just sit on the points and taking a chance on expiration, loss etc

Thanks for posting this. I see there's a promotion where you can win extra stuff by texting codes to 36569 (enjoy)
http://www.mycoke.com/home.jsp?tunnel=utc_contest

There's another one where you text Sprite codes to 777483, and receive a wallpaper or something.

Agree with the examples, yet just a technicallity on the deposit... all of the hotel programs I know of you have to attest to being over 18yo, to open the account (unlike airlines, which minors can participate in). So I'll use "parents" or "uncles" in the example.

Appears PC codes have a good chance to make it to Mon, yet may run out over the weekend. Will post predictions late in the weekend.

Question on 120 point weekly limit

What happens if you are let's say at 118 points on your weekly counter and I enter a 10 point fridge pack?

Will I get 10 points or 2 points?

Thanks for any help

Brendan Mar 13, 2009 2:06 pm

PCMflyer, that was my ?? too, so I tried it. It totally rejects the code as over limit, basically telling U to come back next Monday!

Thanks Brendan, I guess I'm done for this week.

I keep getting an error when trying to log in that:
"Sorry we cannot process your request right now, come back later", and I have been trying on and off for an hour
Anyone else having problems, or is it just me?

WASTE OF VALUE redeeming PC points for ANY item versus $ value for hotel stays

HOWEVER, there is absolutely NO guarantee that the item(s) will still be
AVAILABLE at tinme you go to redeem.

Further, if you bother to research ACTUAL COST of item(s) you'll find
that redeeming PC points for them is a great big WASTE OF VALUE versus
just buying the damn thing(s).

Example you can get a Haier 19" LCD TV/DVD combo for 152,000 points.
Same TV sells for approximately $350 ...

Do you realize how many free reward nights you can get (even at HIX)
for 150,000 PC points ? (especially if your destination HIX os 15,000
a night -- or better yet "point breaks" at 5,000 a night . . .

Even if you use the $11.50 per 1,000 PC miles purchase price to figure
dollar value --

the $100 gift cards or "$100 AnyHotel/Anywhere" Amex cards for
38,900 PC points is a BIG WASTE of PC points !

So is the stupidity of exchanging 10,000 PC points for 2,000 airline miles.

FYI, there is minimum age restriction for BOLTH the MCR and
PC programs but that's a whole different issue.
