I guess it depends what dates your looking at. I randomly selected 6-20 February and the rate is available. 1 stop in Abu Dhabi en 1 technical stop in Beijing (I believe you don’t have to get out of the plane). € 1.637 directly bookable at Etihad.
Anyway, as I said Qatar is better/ more convenient but the price is right.

Technical stop? The "stop" in Abu Dhabi isn't a stop, it's a connection. The "technical stop" in Beiijng is a stop.

Also where would u say the Tyo fare are best from? Many thxs..
Given that MAN/BHX/EDI - TYO on LX J is now GBP1,390, I would not reposition to Eastern Europe to fly QR, but if you must usually the cheapest to TYO are BEG, sometimes PRG and GOT.

I've just taken advantage of the current ex-Scandinavia fares to Asia and bagged ARN-DOH-SIN/HKG-DOH (stopover for two days)-ARN at £1694, our 30 Aug, returning into ARN on 9 Sep.

Google Flights was returning a good figure of £1391, but trying to book it on QR direct resulted in an £1850 fare. I then had a mini-brainwave and looked at Amex Travel, and it produced a fare of £1691. Not as good as the original Google fare, but better than QR direct. Booked in R for the first sectors and D in the HKG-Europe sectors (which probably explains the higher fare - Google must have somehow been seeing R all the way through).

Remember that OTP (Bucharest) to DOH is a low BA TP route. This affects those people needing to achieve a certain number of TPs for a renewal or move up the BAEC tiers.

I checked a few of the destinations in my earlier post and can confirm that (double) open jaws are possible. I am specificaly looking for an open jaw to Shanghai (F1 next year) as to make use of a transit visa when departing to a third country.

If I understand correctly a visa is required for DOH-PVG-DOH but not for DOH-PVG-KUL-DOH or DOH-OTP-PVG-DOH for instance

DOH-PVG-DOH with nested PVG-HKG-PVG would qualify for 2 TWOVs

Just checked out the 12 hour sale. Didn't find any real bargains from SEAsia to U.S. Closest was CMB-LAX at USD $2,557 roundtrip; but fares to other U.S. destinations are much higher.

Why doesn't google flight seem to work for qr fares (ITA returns the same unbookable fares) Searching for a good ex EU fare to KUL or SIN over Xmas and it keeps tempting me with £1400 GOT-SIN fare that jumps to £2400 when clicking through. Routing options around the £1500 mark most welcome. Thanks

QR website has ARN-SIN return GBP1560 out 15.Dec in 7 Jan. I would also check skyscanner, you can usually find an OTA with same flights for some £100 less.

I'll take a look at skyscanner, thanks, though am looking to depart closer to 22 dec. I did find some attractive fares around my dates directly on qr, but they typically require 24h+ layover in doha.
