Fares to Japan look just as expensive as before. I can barely find some "promo" fares in late September and in few days here and there in April and May: and by "promo fares" I mean those who are labelled as this... but they really aren't that good. Bummer...

Another thing I noticed this morning: some of the cheaper fares out of Germany are already gone, and there were some out of MUC and FRA.

Ok so looks like this sale is only worth looking out of:

OSL
ARN
HEL
WDH

some mediocre deals available out of:

ICN
NRT
FRA (potentially gone)
Inner China

Disappointing sale thus far for a “global” sale.

The QR booking site is giving me a hard time (again). Trying to find flights, whatever I try I get this message:
"The requested cabin class is full or not available in at least one of the options listed below. (5003)"

Availability on expedia is wide open, for the same prices that google flights quotes me for booking with QR. Am I doing something wrong? Tried both links from google flights as well as searching using QRs site.

For example:

In your case I think they removed the availability for the DOH-MEL flight, that's why you can't price it (even in a RT ARN-MEL).

Doesn't work for DOH-SYD either though.

Probably gone now inventory wise. The Scandinavia to Oceania deal was a decent one at least.

this is why sales should be released all at once not in pieces. If they actually have some kind of sale ex-US it’s probably going to be sparse since a lot of R inventory has been gobbled up.

oh well.

Just booked CDG to SGN for around £1600 which I’m happy with, PRG to SGN is cheaper at £1300 but the A320 and a 9 hour layover in a dry lounge (Ramadan) didn’t appeal.

These have been my most fruitful origins of late. Following on from a QR ARN SIN booking last November (R class at SEK11,100 per person - GBP995) for Mrs PtF and me, I managed to bag a pre-current sale QR HEL CNX booking during the first few days of January (R class at EUR1,160 per person - GBP1,025) for the two of us next week (albeit all flights are on A330s). I'm happy with anything around the GBP1k mark for a QR Business Class return from Western Europe to most SE Asia destinations - onward business reward connections with either OneWorld or Star Alliance are generally excellent value in that part of the world.

I was afraid that I might regret 'pulling the trigger' before QR's January sale - on this occasion it looks as if I made the right decision. Throw in the free DOH hotels both ways and what's not to like?

Hi!
Can you actually use the free hotel stop over in DOH on both ways ?
I am considering the same thing consider fairly long transit times...

I've just booked HEL-BKK-HEL in I/R class for EUR 1313. Best deal I could find for a June departure (would have been quite a bit less for Sept/Oct). Not too bad, as it's on 3x787 and a 380 (at the moment), with not overly long layovers in DOH.

I wouldn't have booked this at all, but Qantas erroneously cancelled a booking I had for June on CX from Europe to HKG, so I had to do something and this just came along at the right time.

Will this be the only sale or do they tend to run another later on in the year?

palmanfr if you look at https://discoverqatar.qatarairways.c...s/PLUSQATARTNC you will see "Qatar Airways E-ticket number is required to be entered at the payment page. Maximum of one booking is allowed per E-ticket number. " so no it is only once per E-ticket number.

Couldn't you work around that with the second E-ticket number (since most offers are company offers, thus two e-ticket numbers per booking)?

OT: Is it possible that the Qatar sale in January is somewhat dangerous? Last year, I had firefighters knock on my door just as I finished booking saying that I shouldn't be using anything electric as a gas leak had been reported by a neighbour. And guess what happen just about an hour ago. Yes, they are currently fixing two gas leaks.

In our case Mrs PtF’s e-ticket for the outbound hotel reservation, my e-ticket for the inbound hotel reservation.
