Thought it would be worthwhile setting up a Wiki for this so all the information needed is in a single place:

The offer is being able to book 1 night in a 4 Star hotel in Doha for 23 USD or 5 Star hotel for 28 USD
The tickets need to be on 157-xxxx stock (QR) and the layover has to be for a minimum of 12 hours.

Confirmed by QR:
Offer valid for Qatar Airways confirmed ticket holders only.
Offer is available on Qatar Airways flights transiting through Doha during on-ward or return journey. (E.g.
London –Doha – Bangkok).
For two (or more) people travelling together both outward and return hotels can be booked on separate tickets.
A minimum transiting time of 12 hours is required to be eligible for this offer.
Not applicable on codeshare flights.
Other terms and conditions apply. Please review at the time of booking.
A valid visa is required to enter the country.Nationals from a total of 80 countries can now take advantage
of visa-free entry into Qatar. Entry into Qatar will be at the discretion of the immigration authorities.
Discover Qatar is not responsible for the decision taken by the immigration authorities.

Link with full information is : https://www.qatarairways.com/en/offers/plus-qatar.html
Booking page is : https://discoverqatar.qatarairways.com/us-en/plusqatar

Hotels:

To be completed think it would be useful to mention advantages / Distances from attractions here but mine is:

Warwick Doha

Transport:

By far Uber is the best option in Qatar and is easy to book using the Airport and the hotel wifi.

Glad the W respected your Platinum status and gave you a nice upgrade! What happened at the Hilton?

I successfully managed this in March - see post #645

You just reserved it without notifying anyone, right?

Yes, just booked on their website with an early (7am) checkin request, think I then emailed Marriott and had my Gold No added.

I’m sorry if this has been asked/answered already, but I’m flying to Amman from JFK with a 14 hr evening layover in Doha.

Can I get this offer without doing the multi-city booking since I have a layover longer than 12 hrs? Or is that the only way?

I've got the following options in December for my plusqatar stay. I've seen Doha before, so mostly concerned with the nicest in-hotel experience. I get in at 4pm, and out early morning, so breakfast is not a consideration at all (so my hilton and marriott golds don't add meaningful value). Any strong opinions on the best option for me?
  • Al Aziziyah Boutique Hotel
  • Millenium Hotel
  • Warwick
  • Millenium Plaza
  • Westin
  • Intercontinental
  • Marriott Marquis
  • Souq Waqif
  • Hilton
  • Oryx Rotana

I would go for the Marriott Marquis or the Westin. There's not much going on at the Rotana, unless you want the free shuttle to the airport.

Souq Waqif. Nicely set up hotels, and you can fill the evening quite comfortably mooching round the souq, dining/snacking/people watching. You can stock up on falconry kit, and get your bird checked-up in the falcon hospital. It's also handy for the airport. Above all it's DIFFERENT!

Otherwise the Marriot is handily situated next to City Centre mall and across from the far classier Gate mall. Intercontinental the City is also very close by. If the other (resort) Intercontinental is on the list, it's a nice place with some fun bars - but on the other side of the city from the airport.

I wouldn't bother with the others.

Hi,
First time here at QR forum, sorry if my question has been answered before...
Planning a family trip from HEL to SIN with possibly a connection at DOH in Feb/Mar 2019, any insights if this "plusqatar" thing will be continued also 2019?

We don't know quite yet, but given how they have continually extended the "offer" repeatedly for the last year or so, it seem quite like a reasonable possibility.

Agree with IAN-UK. Souk Waqif is perfect for your stopover.
Get to visit the most interesting part of Doha (the Souq), no need for taxi's, just walk out the door. Property has more character than the usual chain hotels. And as you say, you are missing nothing re. elite benefits/stay credits.
Just $10 uber from the airport.
This is where I stayed on my last transit and was very happy

Thanks for the input all. Went for the Souq Waqif in the end, and as I should have STPC on the return leg, I'll presumably be at the Oryx Rotana for that. The "different" makes it more interesting, though I've walked what felt like every nook and cranny of the Souq before!

I typed the address from the confirmation email into UBER and the driver brought me right outside the door. I still did not know for sure where the hotel was as signage is pretty discreet, but as soon as we got out of the car the hotel doorman was over beside us to escort us in
I think they actively watch out for any cars disgorging lost looking tourists outside the premises.
We stayed at that particular location, but I saw a golf cart and I assume they would shuttle you over to the other properties if that is where you needed to be.
