Anyone aware of what the J => F Cash upgrade is roughly likely to be on the A380 from BKK to DOH?

Not sure on price but can confirm you would only receive TPs for the original paid fare class. Also note that recent "enhancements" mean that lounge access and baggage will be granted as per original ticket (or oneworld status), so no Al Safwa at DOH I'm afraid.

You can roughly expect anything between 400 EUR (from C class) and 1400 EUR (from R class) if you rely on how much was previously asked on a DOH-CDG sector. IMHO totally not worth it !

We are flying QR next month. Our niece is flying to join us on the trip. We will meet in DOH and fly on together. We are in business. She is in coach. She is flying on a ticket purchased on Qatar. It is N class. DOH-ADD-DOH is wide open in biz. We are interested in upgrading her so we can fly together. Do you have any idea what this sector would cost? She will be enroute when we check in at Doha. Can we request her upgrade there? Can we pay for it at the gate if not able to secure it at the ticket counter?

If you're looking for a cash upgrade, you might pay her upgrade if she receive any email upgrade offer (expect to pay $300 to $600 per sector), or you can pay it at the upgrade desk at DOH airport (it should be around $500).

A crazy price ! It would probably have been cheaper to upfare the whole inbound BKK-DOH-CDG in F than accepting this "special price" that QR marketing geniuses were not probably thinking about it being special in the same way than I did
And go figure, they don't even serve caviar in F on QR039 ! They only serve it on QR040. Is that so bad for breakfast ?...

Follow up to this, the business cabin was full. I understand that people got op-ups on the flight. It would appear no-one took the offer. Interestingly economy was only 80% full, but business and first had no free seats (after op-ups). Compared to my flight over on 777 that was half empty in J it was quite different. It could have been the schedule, but I would think QR need to get those q-suites in to DOH-SYD pretty sharpish as they look to be losing fares with the old 777 seats.
