Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

I booked QR8 LHR-DOH for next year. Plane is showing Q-Suites. I called QR about 10 days ago and the agent happily and quickly assigned us 3EF. However, there was a problem that caused a delay of over a week in reissuing the e-ticket, during which QR cancelled our space. The airline rebooked us and reissued the ticket, but now when I call QR the agents tell me they are unable to assign any blocked seats "until close to departure." They suggest setting an airport check-in alert to let airport staff know our request, but obviously I'd much rather have confirmed seat assignments. The QR agents see that we were booked in 3EF and that QF8 was removed and then re-added, but they say they cannot put us back in the seats.

I would imagine that there will be some kinks to work out for a while, including, e.g., systems issues, procedures for assigning center section seats/suites, possibly trying QSuite fitted aircraft on different routes.

Any recommendations for first timer?

I've assigned myself 1K at the moment. How about the rest like ABJ? Mini cabin perhaps?

I’m doing DOH-LHR in November on an A350. Is that the one with the Q Suites?

Some have, I did about two weeks ago.

Think it's a big step up, and it makes you feel sad having a second leg in an old 777 just after.
(Was travelling with my fianc so the close middle seats are just awesome as when the divider is down there's nothing inbetween the two of you and that makes conversation a lot easier)

sorry and apologies. Not easy to sort through 550 posts. I finally found a couple nested among discussion about lounges, Paris airshow, future routes, etc...
May I recommend that you include in some wiki in dashboard a brief discussion of which are the best seats in J. A bit like in the BA forum, e.g.:
BA Airbus A380: Which are the best seats? Master discussion thread
I know that this can be done directly by posters, but some synthesis by our great and beloved leader msm2000uk would be useful.

My specific question is: 3E&F, are they as spacious as two window seats (I have spent an hour looking at pictures, but real experience would be good).

The A/K seats have that armrest that raises and is a storage cabinet, does the B/J seats have the same?

Im leaning towards the B/J seats for DOH-JFK. Its a long flight to be flying backwards.
Apologies if this is answered somewhere in the thread, but I went back several pages and couldn't see much opinion on the subject raised by sgan317.

I have a DOH-LHR sector booked that is currently assigned to an aircraft with Q-suites, Am holding 3K, but there are also some B/J seats available and would be interested to hear any opinions as to whether there are significant differences to the pros/cons between the two for a solo traveller. Rear facing seats are not an issue for me as a long-time BA flyer.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

As a solo traveller I would always prefer the window seats.
I've only tried out the E/F seats as travelling with my partner but I would say all the 'suites' have the same space/layout with the only difference that the rear facing window seats have the seat closest to the window where the forward facing ones have the storage unit between you and the window.
Oaxaca likes this.

QR just posted a A350-1000 QSuite Promo video on social media. Guess it's close to delivery date?
