Which Departure Lounge can I use?
Qatar Airways Al Safwa Lounge - The Lounge access is only for Qatar Airways and Oneworld First Class passengers and is located on Level 3 of the airport. Arriving on a longhaul Qatar First class qualifies for lounge access even if connecting flight is not in F. Reports on the Lounge, can be found here(external link) and here. Photographs of the lounge, can be found here (external). Wiki for Al Safwa is here.
The absolute minimum requirement for access is a boarding card for a flight departing in F or a boarding card for an incoming longhaul F flight. Op-ups and guests are not admitted.

I do not think that this is the problem because the Oneworld status is also printed on the Qatar Priviledge Club Card and BA Card and additionally the Oneworld status is also printed on the ticket. At the escalator to the lounge they normally only scan the ticket.

I'm AA Plat (Sapphire) - my BP got scanned and got politely told that I'm not allowed to enter the lounge due not traveling in First or Biz. Didn't want to argue and only had like an hour so I didn't question it.

From a transit on the night of the 23rd of April:
1. I got to the lounge around 6:30 pm. Contrary to prior visits when the lounge was almost empty at this time, it was full and even a bit of a madhouse. Especially the upstairs restaurant was packed and staff were straining to keep the buffet stocked. Things quieted down a couple of hours later. Then came the usual late night rush, although still not as busy as when I first got to the lounge.
2. If you have a long layover don't forget to use the lockers so you can lighten your load while you roam the lounge or go shopping out in the terminal.
3. In recognition of recent posting traffic I feel compelled to note that the Krug was plentiful and flowing freely.
4. For the all important question of the Safwa lounge opening, I asked 3 different people. I asked one man at the bar, the lady in the business center, and one of the guys at the lounge front desk. All of them pretty much said late May, one of them even said May 20th. All agreed that it would be impossible before then. It's rare to get roughly the same answer from three different people. So this unusual bit of consistency from QR staff would seem to say the late May opening is a pretty sure thing.
5. Out in the terminal, D and E concourses are still closed except for the lower level bus gates in each. I saw no sign of any work being done on the North Node lounges.

I was about to add that as useful info for the wikipost, and thus spotted the bulk of what I put there had been edited out. With good intentions I believe, what's left is crisp: the most useful 20% of the info. But an edit like that with no comment in the thread or PM to the person being effectively over-ruled seems... well it leaves me with two questions: (a) is edit history available on the wikipost?, (b) what's the etiquette for editing the wikipost?

Strange. i looked on the signs by the escalator yesterday when I passed through yesterday. It clearly said access for: First and Business passangers (I assume it meant QR, dont remember now), Qatar Gold and Platinum, Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald.
