There are two al-Mourjan lounges now. One is where it's always been, the other is up by the other end of the train line. The new one has a larger dining area, I get the impression that most people prefer the new one.
The only time I ever use al-Mourjan is if I'm in business on a code-share, if I'm in business on QR I can use al-Safwa now. So I may not be the most informative source here

how do you use Al Safwa? is that to do with status? or paying?

I'll have a 10 hour layover in DOH in march arriving from MLE at 10pm and continuing my journey to Europe at 8 am and got a couple of questions regarding my stay.
I am flying Business Class (both flights; Qsuites only on the leg to Europe) and did decide to purchase the Al Safwa lounge access.
Now for sleeping: Based on what I´ve read, odds are that I won't be able to get myself a quiet room in AS. Is that correct?! assuming that I'll arrive at the busiest time of the day.
What options would you prefer if you'd wanna get a good 4-6 hours of sleep? The sleep n fly cabins/pods, the Oryx airport hotel or the couches/seats in the Al Mourjan/Al Safwa? Obviously, they differ in price but just what has the best value.
And lastly, given that with purchased AS access the stay is limited to 6 hours only, does that allow multiple entry? So could I enter at 11 pm after my arrival at DOH for 2 hours, leave the lounge, get some sleep and re-enter the lounge at 6 am for another hour or so? And if not what would you say makes more sense food wise. Going there for a late dinner or breakfast?
Thanks for your suggestions and help!

Garden lounge
I went to the garden lounge. Landed in what I imagine is the new section of the airport and taking off from a c gate. It’s SO. If. Also felt a lot more relaxing than the original al mourjan. The rest area was more like the size of a football pitch. And then the eating area was the same again. I will post a review with a few photos. Definitely recommend.

Aircraft swap from Qsuite but CS don’t see it
I’ve noticed that QR273 12 MAR has changed from Qsuite to 2-2-2 on the seat map. I got no email confirmation of the change so rang CS to see if I could change to another Qsuite flight.
CS refused to change it as their systems don’t show this change. They advise to callback in 3 days to see if back office had updated.
It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve noticed it. Any ideas? Have you seen this before?

How does QR manage their crews to destinations where they fly with a mix of equipment? For example CCU, DAC & HYD have a mix of A330, B787, A350 and A320:
For the A350 & A330 they may be a commonality for crew, but the B787 crews most certainly are not rated to fly in A350. Do they just have extra crew on board to operate the return? I can't imagine that QR would keep crew idle in outstations for 3-6 days for such short (4-5h) flights?

Question from a QR noob about cancelling a flight to get a voucher (instead of cash refund): what is the time limit pre-flight before the flight can no longer be cancelled for a voucher? Is it the same as the OLCI window?

First time flying QR, so apologies for the noob questions.
I currently have QR flights on hold: KUL-DOH-DFW. I booked via AA using AA flight numbers. Booking using the QR flight numbers is prohibitively expensive. Both pax are OWE if that makes a difference.
I'm able to access the booking on QR's website using the QR PNR, but the seat selection option isn't working, it errors out. I also can't access the itinerary on any of the other OW airline sites. Will this change once I ticket the itin - that is, can I expect to pre-select seats via QR, AA, or some other OW website?
We're also thinking of traveling to KUL the night before the DOH flight on MH. It appears MH will interline our bags onto QR. If we stay airside, will we be able to check-in and get BPs for our QR flights online? If not, is there an airside transit desk?
Thank you for any insight.

How likely is it for an award QR flight to get released back into the inventory if cancelled? I booked at a saver rate DOH-SEA.
Only inquiring because I realized I could've booked TYO-DOH-SEA for 95,000 Avios instead separately booking TYO-DOH for 60,000 Avios + DOH-SEA for 70,000 Avios.

If the 95k ticket is available now, and you have enough points, the safest option is to book the 95k ticket now and then cancel the other two for a refund.
Alternatively, if the 95k ticket is available and you call QRPC, they may be able to cancel, refund immediately and rebook.
If the 95k ticket is not currently available, you take the risk of losing your currenr pricing if the seats do not go back into inventory or if they do so at x2.

Hello,
Is there any QA booking experts here?
I have c.110,000 Avios that I can use with QA, and also 40 Q credits to use.
Should I book a normal fare and then use the Q credits and Avios to upgrade or book a reward flight with Avios and Q credits?
Probably looking at a return to Asia from London and would like a leg in QSuite to experience it.
Thanks in advance

One workable option would be to book an economy cash return and then hope to be able to upgrade some or all of it with avios and/or credits, either in advance or at the airport on departure. But that does depend on there being upgrade availability, which is not guaranteed. Or you could look for a cash business class ticket and reduce the cash element with avios, or a reward ticket reducing the avios amount with cash. You would earn avios and qpoints on a cash plus avios ticket, but not on an avios plus cash reward.
So there are a few possibilities to look into.
