AndersB, a warm official welcome to FlyerTalk (in particular the QF Forum) and the QP drinks. I am sure given your status and flying experience, you'll be able to both give adn receive relevant information that will benefit all.

Look forward to organising the 2nd Annual BNE QP AGM (being that the first one was an EAGM) in Februrary and hopefully it fits in with your schedule.

Looks like the big thunderstorm that hit at 5pm yesterday put the Canberra FTers off attending Christmas drinkies. The only attendees were 5 :-: dsn and myself. At least Alan in CBR had an excuse!

Red face Don't do it to me Willyroo.....

Now that the Xmas Drink sessions appear to be over for the year (unfortunately I don't have any scheduled travel until 15 January so can't see myself organising MEL drinks), I see our esteemed moderator Willyroo has cut this topic adrift from it's previous sticky status....now destined to sink lower and lower on the topic list until finally...oblivion .

Well I finaly get a good net connection

Arrived in NZ a few days ago, big thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and meloz for making me smile with some stories.

A had to battle with the front desk to let me into our hotel room, but I finally made it in, Thanks for the lift back QF WP very kind of you

So all I can say is while you guys seem to pay more for air fares, if your plat and close to the airports you have a free members club with free beer and food, cant say better than that.

Big thanks to everyone for the great night and stinking bad head the next day.

Ahh, we can't let that happen, now can we. So, QF WP, what are you up to on Friday afternoon? I will be in Spring Hill (Astor Tce) and should be finished my "appointment" about 2pm. I am sure you know a few good watering holes around that part of the world?? Maybe we can convince Willyroo and perhaps a few others to joins us??

NM, Friday PM is expected to be quiet, have Mrs QF WP's other work Xmas function that night. We could either head to the St Pauls Tavern (200 metres up the road) or alternatively, as we get our staff drinks at 3pm on a Friday, perhaps you could join me for a HP (I'll have to make sure there are sufficient available). Willyroo and other BNE-based FT'ers most welcome (just need you to RSVP for catering purposes) - office is in the commercial building next to St Pauls Church, 2nd floor.

Hi Dino2020,

To use QANTAS Speak, the word is 'complimentary', anything from them is rarely free!

Thankyou for reminding me. My compliments to the other attendees as well for the 'bad head' that I achieved. 'Twas fun and good company.

My 'phone alarm went off at 7am , what a relief when I realised it was still on MEL time and I had an extra hour ^ .

Good luck for the rest of your journies ^

Friday 15th in the afternoon..anything on?

Hi to NM and QF WP, are you doing anything Friday afternoon?
I get in early am from NRT and have a company meeting to attend that should be over early afternoon. Would love to catch up before seeing family later in the afternoon. Trivia..tonight (Wed 15th) staying in Sofitel Tokyo (24 hr broadband for A$7) using 1 annual Advantage Plus free night. Building looks like a piece broken off Battlestar Gallactica. http://www.sofitel.com/sofitel/fiche...he_hotel.shtml

Just post here and I will read before Friday. Look forward to Fri. John.

JohnSydney2000, yes a low-key drink at my offices has been arranged, as NM is around the corner on Fri PM.

Date: Friday, 17 Dec
Time: 3pm
Address: Level 2, 67 St Pauls Terrace, Spring Hill (next to St Pauls Church)
Parking is tough - clearway on St Pauls Terrace after 4pm, parking available on side streets or perhaps under our building.

AndersB, bravoecho, bundybear, dannyr, d00t, anybody else around in BNE for a quick drink?? Please RSVP here though (so I can make sure there's enough HP's available). Will only be HP Light though...and only snacks might be some Samboy chips or something similar.

I'll have to leave by 5pm (no 10.30pm close here) as I have Mrs QF WP's Xmas function to attend.

Hey John, see you are still on-line now. Check out the automatic beer pooring machines in the JAL lounge at NRT. I assume they have them in all the lounges, but the one I saw was in the Sukura (sp??) lounge in the satelite pier. Nifty little toy to have at home ^ .

Yes, NM waiting for the call for my first ever JL flight from the Sakura lounge. I have 2K printed on a piece of cardboard in front of me.
Yes , I found the "Draft Beer" machine and decided to conduct a field test.

Despite this being Nippon, only 1 out of 2 of the dispensers worked. But I eventually was able to have a beer poured for me.

My flight is being called. See you tomorrow.John.
