SYD transfer - QF has lost the plot

I’m flying MEL-SYD (QF) (full fare biz return $1,200) and then first class SYD-BKK (TG). I’ve been QFF top tier since 1987 & just recently the new TG Platinum. I’m astounded that I’m expected to collect my bags in SYD & lug them personally onto the QF bus between the domestic & initernational terminals. QF's SYD interlining policy will terminate my 24 year relationship with them. QF has lost the plot.

I don't fly DJ. I've been WP as long as it's existed & I only fly biz or first class on QF. I've never had an interline issue before with QF. And my attitude is just fine.

You still don't have an interline issue -- you have a separate ticket issue. If you had bought a single ticket MEL-SYD-BKK then QF will happily interline your bags for you -- in any class. But this is one of the consequences of buying separate tickets. Hope the money you saved is worth the inconvenience.

I didn't save a penny. I bought full price fares both times.

You're flying with a competitor, why should they make it easy for you to do so? Some relationship if you're this loyal. You sound like a man complaining that his wife caught him having an affair.

(mod edit - referencing deleted post)

Good day to you.

No, you'd fly economy. We don't have "coach" in Australia.

Interesting that the OP is directing his anger at QF.

Why not:
TG has lost the plot - I bought a full fare business class ticket yet they can't even arrange a chopper, limo, bus from the Dom terminal to Intl

--

QFs interline policy is simple - Same PNR or QF or oneworld only. You clearly chose to book TG on a different PNR - maybe to save money, maybe to earn/retain status on TG - eitherway you chose to book a ticket outside of QF, so why should you expect them to interline (and take responsibility if TG loses your luggage)

Only since 3 November 2010.

QF has the monopoly for the bus between SYD's silly separation of DOM & INT terminals.

Buying a QF biz full fare should get my baggage to the INT terminal.

My loyalty can't be in doubt when I'm WP & most of the complainants are at a lesser level than mine.

This is a QF apologist forum.

(quotes deleted post)

And forget the BS on the full fare biz & first class, who cares, it doesn't make a difference as far as bag through checking whatever the carrier. AFAIK, most airlines don't differentiate their policy on this based on class travelled or fare paid.

Apart from these points, I'm with you. Their (domestic) competitors do not do it, but QF want it both ways. They want to make out they are a "Premium" airline, yet they are getting cheap (like the domestic 1 bag restriction). They used to through check bags to other carriers on different tickets (in the past I did to QF->SQ on to fit together various redemptions, eg at BNE & CGK) but now you can only do it to QF or other oneworld carriers if they are not on the sameticket. Sure they don't have to - in fact they never had to - but now that they don't that's one less point of differentiation from the competitor(s).

QF have made it quite clear over the last few years you're either with them or against them. This first manifested itself in direct sweep credit cards, continued with the loss of WP anytime access and no longer through checking. But if you are just another whinger and complain but still pay to fly with QF - well you get what you deserve - the other option is crystal clear, start flying with the opposition based on principle or go BFOD.

hahaha you are the very reason why people in Australia dislike conservatives when it comes to election.

hate to break to you buddy, you do not own everything. You bought 2 tickets with 2 different airlines and expect them to connect you through?

there are simply people out there who are more important and have more money than you. this is reality of the world, you dont like it, you can choose to leave this world.

hope you had a good flight paying full price

I make WP after 6 weeks each year. I'll make WP1 after 3 months if I decide to continue to fly QF. Does anybody think that WP1 shouldn't get interline DOM-INT MEL-SYD as part of WP1?

as far as QF is concerned, you purchased a full J class fare from MEL-SYD, they delivered you to SYD domestic airport with all of your luggage.

That's the end of the contract.

Whatever you have done with Thai is your own choice. QF does not need to take that into consideration.

If anything TG should organise a premium transfer service for their full fee paying premium customers. this is none of QF's concern.
