It's been a very long day and this gave me a hell of a chuckle at the end of it. Thanks. ^

Blaahrfingaahr Blaahrfingaahr spelled Lee Smith

Nice reference, Mrs. Luxury-Yacht.
Does bring up the point about some of those British oddly-pronounced surnames though. If Mr. Auchinlech were to reply "Afflek" or Mrs. Beauchemin "Beecham" then I bet the poor old TDC would "hesitate" too. You would probably see the TILT sign in his eyes.
It's the first time in my life I've ever regretted not being called Effingham - you could have so much fun with that

It would be much more fun if the TDCs would actually respond to any sort of fun. But as is par for a TSA employee, they are just sheepwalking. On three separate occasions (1 @ IAH, 2 @ SFO) I've been asked, "Can you state your first* and last name?" (*at IAH only). I've simply responded, "yes". All three times, they have just handed me my BP and ID.

My response to this will be nothing. I will point to my throat and mouth as if I have laryngitis. (as I silently curse them all in my head)

That was lots of fun in ANC when I did not utter a single sound through the checkpoint. They seemed confused.

Been practicing finger spelling my name. Getting pretty smooth with it.

I plan on finger spelling and if the screener says something along the lines of ok, thanks or such I will answer verbally.

He could be arrested as charges of travel fraudulent. I actually believe that he got fake ID and he does not have legalized rights to come in USA. He could be deportation from USA.

While passing through the IAH E checkpoint I was asked to "pronounce" my last name, so I pronounced it like I learned to do in grade school by clapping my hands to count the syllables.

http://teacherexpress.scholastic.com...ght-words-poem

The agent just looked at me, rolled his eyes and said have a nice day.

I chuckled to myself and managed to avoid the AIT selection by letting an old lady in front of me who took forever in the AIT thus I was directed to the metal detector and did not have to opt-out.

So is it still just SFO and IAH ?

Could it be possible some TSA worker at IAH saw it posted here and thought[sic] in a monkey see, monkey do kind of way that it was a soooper idea ? If it's an experiment initiated by HQ, I hope they are getting the feedback from the workers it deserves.
