My last flight on DE was SEA-FRA last February. The doc check is to see your passport and to verify if you need anything else. The upload passport option is new and was not available to me on my last flight. As I mentioned, when I checked in, the agent asked me for my KTN and it was printed on the boarding pass. BTW, hold onto those boarding passes because if your miles are not credited with Alaska, you will need to forward one to them.

They boarded Group 1 and there were a lot of people to be in biz. Looked like families etc were group 1 too

While I was in a prime seat I didn’t get a PJ (didn’t care) nor the free texting package (didn’t notice until close to arrival).
not the best performing crew is this regard otherwise ok to good

I am wondering what is a check-in closing time at the MSP airport as they advise to come to the airport at least 3 hours prior the departure time. And is there a lounge access for Business Class?

Regards, DC10

Condor's website suggests no lounge at MSP

Your must check in 60 minutes before the flight.

Your upgrade experience makes me wonder if it is worth paying $240-$360 for the prime seat. Yes, I would get a bigger seat and a bigger TV. But both are not critical for me. Today, Condor dropped the price of the upgrade on my flight from $360 to $290. It will probably get down to $200-250 level before my flight in the end of August. But with a sub-par crew, no PJ, and no text package... is it really worth it? Decisions, decisions...

Nice (especially the leg room when sleeping) but worth it….. I would say no in most cases ( sub $200 for the 10.5h night / 11.5 daytime flight would be OKish).
my flight on the 8th has 4 regular seats and all prime seats showing as open. Price dropped from $360 to $300 a week before departure.
Not biting unless it will be lowered into the 150-200 range

In FRA the usually chaotic service. A little booth with document check on the way (easy to miss) and no clear lanes etc. but all in all better than last year and business boarded through the door in front- love not to have the whole plane walk by me

Blitzen, thanks for keeping us informed about your Condor experience. I'll be following your path in less than a month. Are there any other details you could share with us about your return flight: the service, the lounge in FRA, food..., etc.? How long did it take you to get through passport control and security in FRA? Was there a separate check-in line for business travelers in FRA? Anything else that might be useful for future travelers? Thanks in advance.

Arrived around noon in FRA and was past security around 12:15 ... first check had three lanes (Smartway - Families / Eco - Prem - Business / Eco) but only one queue) but all were moving. Had booked a Smartway appointment but didn't need it (?followed the signs but didn't have to show anything and it seems Business and Smartway eneded in the same security line) and security was a quick queue of 4 people in front of me.
But have a look out for a Condor "Document check" in the middle of the walk way to the B4x gates. Easy to miss. She quickly checked my EU Passport and Greencard and added a sticker to my Passport. LH Business lounge is a minute away from the Condor gate (think it was H43 or B44). Typical LH lounge (some hot food, snacks, drinks, ....) more than enough room. Got to the gate around 2:10pm (as perr BP for the 2:55pm departure) and was surprised all was still "on time". One queue for Document Check desk (peopel didn't know what it was for but stood in line anyway) and the ground crew was pitching upgrades. After 5 min someone stated "Boarding Group 1" (not over the intercom but just said that a little louder). And opened one of the ?? (what ever the things are called that are used to rope off an area. No signes and all looked pretty random. Walked past him and to the automated BP check - didn't work but the woman manning it quickly checked and I was on teh plane no problem. So a little disorganized/ not clearly signposted but no problem. At least 3 free seats in business (tried to check prime seat pricing but 2 days before seat map stopped showing and during check in there was no seat map / way to see/change your seat. So I stuck to 8A and found that teh prime seat makes more sense for an overnight, only for the window seats (the prime middle looked very exposed) and I would pay may $100-150 in the future.
BTW for my Alaska Award the SeatBoost App (bid for upgrades) was showing upgrade to Eco Premium for 89 Euro (I think) and Business for 530 Euro. So that wouldn't be bad to upgrade economy but I already was in Business :)

I would add that if you have the misfortune to be at a bus gate at FRA, good luck. That's where the chaos begins. We did stop for the document check prior to the gates, where we got the stickers on our passports. Showed up at the bus gate to one, single massive line for all passengers (no business class). In this line, BPs were scanned and passports checked, and then we were passed to another person, who scanned BPs, and put us in yet another line for yet another passport check. Finally made it into a crammed corral of people to wait for more than 10 minutes for a bus.

The whole process was, frankly, miserable, and soured me on flying Condor again. The onboard product is fine, but the airport experience at FRA is terrible and I'm not inclined to do it again.

Does someone has experience for premium economy on long haul? And in addition to that, if I book one way fare which has "FREE CANCELLATION", that means I would get the full amount refunded? I can't find the fare conditions during the booking process.

Thank you for the warning that chaos will ensue in Frankfurt. I don't fly internationally often and this will be a first to FRA, and first flight on Condor. I hope all goes well. I would hope that someone from Condor would read all the Social Media posts on issues that could be easily resolved. The boarding issue seems to be a common problem at many airports along with delays in getting off the ground.

While it is annoying I concentrate on the good value I get the other 95% of the time for my $$$ or miles.
