Two years ago, I converted Radisson points over to keep my miles alive. But this option is gone now!
The instructions don't seem to work if you have a Fortune wings account registered to their USA site.
I had to chat with a rep and request that they donate 1 point. Sure enough - my expiration date is renewed for 2 more years.
Strange that the chat rep asked for my password. Hope they don't zero out my balance!

Happy to share that using chat worked for me as well. The agent advised I needed a Chinese mobile number to use the site, but offered to help me anyway. They did ask for permission to use my passcode.
No problem donating 1 point, and the new 2025 expiration date was reflected immediately after logging back in.
The link for "Live Support" is at the bottom of the Hainan US homepage, under Services Center.

I was able to donate another point online to extend my points expiry date. Had to put in a Chinese number to get it to work.
For booking a hotel, is there any way to preview availability and price before calling? The online booking tool has been broken for a while.

I was finally able to use the phone app and donate one mile adding 2 years to the expiration finally. I had to put in a Chinese mobile phone number in my profile first. Response time for anything you do the phone app is long.

How on earth did you manage that? (I have Chinese phone in my profile)
Update: I think I got it sorted by going to the Chinese site instead of the US version of Fortune Wings. What a PITA!
Waiting for the credit of the purchased miles to see if the time got extended...
Update 2: It worked! Bought 1000 points for RMB120 (said 1000 was the minimum) and points extended two years. Was a close-call with only a few days to spare for them all to expire. I know I could have somehow donated points without paying anything, but I was just glad I finally found the BUY option, so wasn't keen on further frustration/investigation on how to get this extended for free.

I've been trying to donate or purchase to keep my points to no avail. It says click on PURCHASE miles, but there is no link.
points are about to expire...I might just have to fly somewhere...not keen on losing all points..

But you got done what you needed! Congrats!

New partner added, or at least, one I never noticed before: IHG. It's a 5:1 ratio though, so Accor produces more value if you can use both.
Problem is, I can't seem to transfer to Accor. I got a message about a monthly limit. I think I haven't transferred any points since 2023 though.

The monthly redemption frequency exceeds the limit. Please try again next month.

I might just ask a colleague in China if they want anything from the shop, it might be easier

I did have the text problem too but it resolved itself when I resent the code for a second time.

Trip report - PVG-CKG on HU7493 in Y
Booking
2 economy one-way Fortune Flex award tickets booked online at hnair.com, the Chinese website, for 10,000 points + 100 RMB each. The cash price was about $110. The English website hainanairlines.com does not appear to have the award search page. Google translate is your friend. You may choose fare classes and extra luggage for more points. Fortune Classic awards are a fixed award chart, Fortune Flex awards are dynamic (?) based on cash price. The catch is when you redeem, credit cards do not appear to be an option for payment - must use something like WeChat or Alipay QR codes. I felt safe when I had ticket numbers in hand. Booked at about T-50 days out. Fortune Flex awards did not appear when I was looking at 90+ days. Note that you must register other people you want to use points for two months before the month you want to use them. Registration in May leads to only being redeem for them in July. I wasn't able to manage the flight online, but emails to the vip@ email (for status holders) to assign seats were answered within an hour.
Check-in and Lounge
With my Fortune Wings Gold status (earned from the Hong Kong airlines mistake fare in 2019 that somehow was extended 5 years, along with 6 unused upgrade coupons), I was informed I had a 70kg allowance, and successfully checked in 4 checked bags. I also received 2 lounge coupons for the VIP 190 lounge (for me and my companion) - very handy as my Priority Pass only has 2 guest allowance. Lounge dragon only submitted one guest when I gave him my PP card and the two lounge coupons for 4 people. Lounge is very underwhelming, just a room with armchairs and an underwhelming buffet of two tasteless vegetarian bao options when I entered. Around 5:30 they changed the buffet to real food like fried rice and chicken. The highlight of that lounge are the noodles - instant noodle cups and a person to make fresh bowls with spicy meat.
Flight
Boarding was simply everyone lining up in a double file line. No group announcements or anything. I could probably have cut everyone with my status but didn't bother. I traded seats with one of my companions on a separate reservation, but I was told that the flight attendant greeted my companion, recognized my status, and prioritized their requests. The seat was an average tight economy seat on a 737, nothing remarkable. Like most longer Chinese domestic flights, we received a box of economy food - rice, chicken, some glutenous dessert, yogurt. I ate little of it as it tasted bad and I was full from the lounge. No power outlets anywhere. Remarkably, the priority baggage tags were effective and my bags were the first off the carousel.
Overall, economy/10 flight. Extra baggage allowance, priority baggage, and lounge coupons saved me some money. Best of all, my point expiration date has been pushed another 2 years out. Maybe I'll use them to book Alaska domestic awards thru the vip email again, although the taxes were high-ish at around $50.

Donation on the first page still works
I never imagined it would still be difficult or expensive to book flights to China after COVID, so here I am, I donated and extended my points for another 2 years for my 2nd time.
Here's what I tried and did.
I tried with the chat agent, told him/her that I don't have a Chinese number in order to donate. I was instructed to go to their CN website, use the generic number 13000000000 (9 zeros).
I browsed for a while, but I couldn't find the page to donate. Luckily, the link in the first page of this thread still worked. My Chrome translated only occasionally, so I had to use my phone with Google Translate, taking pics of my tablet's screen.
After logging in, select the tab for 'points donation'. Enter 1 (or a lot more if you're generous) for the quantity. Your current balance will display in red on the right.
Change your cell number from what's already entered to 13000000000.
The donor name showed as my last name and my first name without a space, but after pressing the blue 'donate' button, I got an error message telling me it's too long. I deleted my last name, then it went through. 🎉
I was already logged in on my account page on a separate tab, it didn't show the new expiry date, but after logging out and logging back in, I was able to confirm the new expiry date and the new balance.
Hope this helps.
