In KVS, the DONE5 base price shows as ZAR55,200 which I'm pretty sure is unchanged (the DONE4 is certainly unchanged - at ZAR48,000)

The tool is showing the base price for DONE5 at 110,480 ZAR + 22,000 or so in taxes bringing the total to 132,000 ZAR (the previous figure included some BA metal flights with an IB code, I re-selected them with a BA code hence the bump in taxes)

The base fare seems almost 2x the quoted base fare on KVS. Yes, I checked, and I've selected only 1Adult passenger.

Tried another dummy itin and it prices correctly at 55,200ZAR plus taxes.

I'm going to chalk this one as another of the unsolved mysteries of the Booking Tool.

While I'm here, the booking too doesn't quite resolve the 2nd entry to Europe if ending in Africa (other than RSA) does it? If I'm ending the rtw with SYD-xLHR-NBO, I'll need to call AA and set this up?

IIRC this bug (the base price double what it ought to be) has been reported before - but from only points of origin in the Middle East

I reported this bug in the tool bug thread - see here

Is there any rules concerning minimum time for connecting flight on a One World Explorer Ticket?

I asked for a 1 hour connection in Madrid and have been told that the minimum time is 1:30. It was between a international flight and a "intra-Schengen" flight, so 2 different terminals (and it takes very long to go from one to the other".

My question is: is there a 90 hour rule for every airport or is it flexible? I would like to do a 1 hour connexion between 2 international flights in Sydney.

Another question: how does it work in that was with airport taxes? Will I pay them anyway or only if I spend more than 24 hours on ground?

Minimum Connection Times (MCT) vary by a number of factors, including airport, terminals, type of connection (D-D, I-I, I-D or D-I) and carriers/flights used. Ticket rules have no control over the MCT.

The base I-I MCT at SYD is 1 hour, but using different carriers for each sector can increase that.
eg, connecting from QF22 to QF11 has a 1 hour MCT, connecting from QF22 to QF320 (codeshare on BA16) has a 2 hour MCT.

Almost all taxes are including in the ticket price. There are very few places that still require airport fees to be paid at the airport. If you are connecting through an airport, you will pay the fees for that airport. If you have an I-I connection in SYD, you'll have to pay the SYD airport fees, but will likely not need to pay the Australian Customs arrival/departure fees (or else get a lower rate for them).

most ticketable taxes are only due if your stopover exceeds 24 hours

Himeno and Deconz, thank you very much for your reply. Any idea of how much I would save by staing less than 24 hours iso more than 24 hours in Sydney? I've been told 80 euros but I find it a huge amount...

It sure is ... actual breakdown (in AUD) is :-

Australian Int'l Passenger Service Charge (WY) 33.70
Australian Passenger Movement Charge (AU) 70.30
Australian Int'l Passenger Service Charge (WY) 33.70

WY is charged twice as it applies to each arrival and departure - unless you are in transit (defined as less than 24 hours) when none of the above is payable.

So if I understand properly, by doing a transit isa staying 24h+, i would save "only" 33.70?

No, you would save all three charges in my earlier post. Stay more than 24 hours and you get charged the lot.

Ok, thank you for the quick reply! (Sorry I missed the "none of the above is payable")

What about if it is a transit between an international and a domestic flights?

You'd be entering the country. The fees are payable.

Hi,
I have been charged 1127.19 pounds for
TAXES AND CARRIER-IMPOSED FEES for
the following LONE5:

LHR-LAX-MIA-MBJ-MIA-LGA-ORD-LAX-NRT-SIN-BKK
-HKG-SYD-ZQN-SYD-JNB-LHR

Compared to my taxes in previous years
it seemed incredibly high.

Would anybody know if they are correct?

Greatly Appreciated

Boar

Are there any A380 flights bookable on a LONEx that don't land or depart from the US?

QF flights to LHR (via SIN, soon via DXB) and some SYD-HKG flights.

Hi guys,
I have another stupid question: When I book a "price optimized" intinerary with the online tool, e.g. by using favourable code shares, and I later change the carrier/date of a flight which would have been more expensive when booked in the first place, do I have to pay the difference or is the price I paid for my ONE itinerarity a done deal?
Thanks for your help!
