Canada has legislation that prevents this "Higher Converted Cost" rule being applied to fares puchased from Canadian TA's.

No if bought from a Canadian travel agent or airline ticketing office you can get the lower rate applicable for the start of your ticket.

Buying in Canada normally means being billed in CAD.

Yes, it's Canadian legislation that allows sales for origins cheaper than Canada to be sold in Canada at the cheaper price.

That is why the higher price rule cannot be applied there.

And for CX member on L class:

AA 100% Club Miles
LA 100% Club Miles
MA 100% Club miles
IB 50% Club Miles
JL INT 50% DOM 0
QF 50% Club Miles
BA 50% Club Mile
AY 0
RJ 0

Do any of these restrictions apply if you book a DONEx? I collect miles with CX in MPC and am trying to figure out if I will only earn 50% Club Miles flying BA or QF in D on RTW itinerary. Thanks.

You get 125% Club Miles for D on any OW airline.

It might be worth updating the upgrade section to include the other airlines not mentioned.

I have just completed 4 flights with Lan on a OWE as a Premium Silver and was able to upgrade 3 of the 4 flights.

How did you upgrade? Thanks.

Premium Silvers (Sapphire) receive 6 upgrade coupons a year - flights within South America require 1 coupon, South America to North America/Europe/South Pacific more. Comodoros (Emerald) get unlimited upgrades. These upgrades can only be requested at checkin.

You can also use Lan Pass points/kilometers to upgrade. These upgrades can be processed in advance.

Thanks. I thought they were talking about cross program upgrades within OneWorld. That got my attention ;)

Of course you have to join Lan Pass. I thought that was fairly obvious. My point was that this thread only covers upgrades with CX, Qantas, BA & AA. I think it is incomplete & should cover all the One World Airlines.

I would like to see a system of One World upgrades but for now one has to join the individual FFP's.

No, it wasnt completely obvious. In * alliance you can upgrade on other carriers, although it is complicated. I thought maybe something had changed in OneWorld since the post was in the OneWorld forum and therefore I didnt think it was a program specific thing.

It might be worth reading the personal info under a poster's name.
I did include Lan Premium Silver under mine.

This thread deals with the OWE. It is not comprehensive if it only covers certain airlines.

I think there must a fair degree of misunderstanding on both sides. My apologies.

My original post was regarding the ability to upgrade Lan sectors on a One World Explorer ticket (L). This thread does have a section re the ability to upgrade individual sectors on CX, BA & AA. I was just confirming that it is also possible to upgrade individual sectors with Lan.

As a regular OWE buyer the ability to upgrade individual sectors is extremely important to me. As far I can see this is the correct thread to comment on this issue.

Sorry, accept my apologies as well. Sorry for being so snippy, it was a misunderstanding.

Sounds like LAN has a good upgrade system? Better than CX, BA, AA?
