Ok, thinking of an AONE4.

Without maximising miles for now:
HND-BKK-HKG-SIN-SYD-PER.
PER-DOH-LHR-JFK-HND.
that should price, right?

Clearly a bunch of miles left to use up.
The new JL F seems impossible to get 1, let alone 2 A seats on.
Any must do routes that might actually have A availability?

I'd wait until Project Sunrise is ready to go on QF. Those F suites look huge.

I have really struggled to get JAL F on any routes with an AONE, even for a single person: it feels like AA and JAL somehow block each other being able to book on an AONE. If you use a travel agent you may have better luck. Even when ExpertFlyer shows A4, AA isn't able to book - I found a random "A" single seat in six months time on BKK-HND (old seat) that I was able to book, it showed with the AA codeshare being A1. As such, you likely need another routing like starting with HND-HKG (CX F == plenty of availability a few weeks out) or NRT-KUL (MH Business Suites, not available on every flight now, and is a business plus product, but will credit with A miles.

NRT-KUL-HKG // HKG-LAX-JFK-LHR-MAN // MAN-LHR-DOH-HKG // HKG-HND (Was really struggling to get a better option here, and since this will be after the year tier point reset, it doesn't matter that much - tried HKG-KUL-HND or HKG-BKK-HND, I may change later)
After being inspired by golfmad on this thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip...arch-2025.html I changed this to be
NRT-KUL-HKG // HKG-LAX-LHR-BAH-LHR // MAN-LHR-DOH-HKG // HKG-BKK-HND

It gives me more tier points and made for a more efficient use of my time, however more BA flights means more YQ, a lot more, around USD1000 of additional taxes for the new routing . It's a reminder that if you have time intra-USA flights are very cheap and a good way to earn miles in comparison to long haul flights with BA.

So yesterday i finally called AA RTW desk and started the booking of my RTW. Found the flights, the dates were good and i was super stoked about this.

But today i get an email from AA saying "Your Around the World reservation is unable to be rated and needs correction."

So really on pins and needles. Is this normal ?

No. Have you phoned the AA RTW desk?
Implies an error in the route (~ rules) or availability. Please post the route.

Sure. Found out AA had two problems with my routing.

My routing:
HND-JFK-EZE
EZE-JFK
JFK-LHR-CPT
CPT-DOH
DOH-PRG
PRG-DOH
DOH-LHR
LHR-HEL
HEL-HKG-AKL
AKL-MEL
MEL-HKG-DEL
DEL-HND

Issue AA are finding with above itinerary:
First issue is CPT routing. The JFK-LHR-CPT-DOH part. So once i even have a layover in Europe and go to SA i cannot go back to Europe. That's what i am being told.
Second issue is they are telling me i cannot go even for a layover in Asia and comeback to Asia again. So the HEL-HKG-AKL as i comeback to Asia when i do MEL-HKG-DEL-HND part.

I am sure the experts here have already figured out, the attempt here is to work out an itinerary that is as lengthy with long flight starting from hubs to a long haul destination.

The flights that were super important to me that i would want to keep, if possible, would be:
JL- HND-JFK
AA - JFK-EZE
BA - LHR-CPT
QR- DOH-LHR
AY - HEL-HKG
CX - HKG- AKL

Hope can find something feasible.

By "layover" do you mean a transit less than 24hrs? Or a longer time?

Wow...that awesome. Why are they giving me grief. Is it simple case of HUCA ?

$700 bucks can buy me a lot of stuff. I am total newb here. Sounds like it is advisable to book this with QR ?

Here's what the rules say.

Only one intercontinental departure and one intercontinental arrival permitted in each continent except as follows: ...

3. Two permitted in Europe/Middle East for travel to/from/via Africa. If travel is to/from Europe in both directions, itinerary may not include Mauritius/South Africa.
---
So by returning to Europe (DOH-PRG-DOH-LHR-HEL...) after having been in South Africa, you're violating that rule. Traveling to Asia via Doha would be okay, so you'd have to rearrange your Europe segments to allow for that routing.

I believe the agent was mistaken in saying the two entries into Asia wasn't allowed.

So how would you fix this itinerary ?

Can i go to CPT after my Europe trip ? Would that correct it ?

the thing to understand though is that when that email is sent it is after "pricing" department who look at all the rules do the verdict and sometimes you do need to push back and get the change. I recently was told Jordan was not in Middle East because the rule said "Middle East (including Egypt, Libya, Sudan)" and only after a long time on hold they agreed that even if Jordan is listed as Asia in AA classification it is indeed Middle East for ow RTW ticketing.
I agree that Asia allows TWO intercontinental departures and arrivals, so that should not be an issue. Perhaps it is the requirement to travel in a continuous direction between TC1-TC2-TC3? It seems once you start in TC3, you are doing TC3-TC1-TC2-TC3. In my current itinerary DONE4 I have something similar TC2 (M East)-TC3 (Asia)-TC1(N America)-TC1 (S America)- TC2 (M East). When I had stopovers in Europe/M East on the return it was messing up the pricing and they were coming up with a lot of problems such as Jordan not being in M East, so in the end I just booked the route without stopovers with the hope changing the dates/time later if need be....
