Wow thanks for the pics, Dan Travels, I can't wait to read some people's trip reports!

Fantastic! I wish I was there. Looks like a nice send off for my favorite plane! I recognize all those agents, especially Maria A. I worked with her when we cleaners for NWA... she's a riot! Can't wait for the reports.

Great pics! The purser with the cake served us on our only DC-10 trip to HNL back in 2004.

AsianRick suggested starting a thread in the Trip Reports forum for this very purpose, so I did.

I wasn't on the flight, but I've posted a... pre-trip report, I guess!

Wonder how the very few non-FT'ers in FC felt? Bet you they joined FT as soon as they got off the plane.

I've posted comments on all the photos I took that Jon Austin put on Northwest's DC-10 Retirement Flickr photostream, so they're not captionless anymore.

Great work! That looked like an awesome time and I will be in for the next one, 744 I presume ( I will skip the DC9 last flight, it's a work horse but the route will be too short to have much fun)!

Ok, I now can confirm I have flown with at least 2 and maybe 3 FT'ers. Can we get some names on the faces?

Next one is the 742. We all agreed this morning to be on it. Let's fill it.

And after the flawless performance by Ol' 1237, the Airbus is running late on its first day:

Departs: Minneapolis/St. Paul-Int'l, MN (MSP) Arrives: Honolulu-Int'l, HI (HNL)
Gate: F10 Gate: 13
Scheduled: 11:30AM Scheduled: 4:13PM
Actual: 11:29AM Estimated: 4:28PM
Aircraft: A330-300

I didn't name any FTers in the photos for privacy reasons (some of them would prefer it that way, I think) but if anyone wants to name themselves, I don't object. If others send photos in to Jon, maybe there'll even be some with me in 'em.

To be fair, it did post an ontime departure. It is likely running late due to strong headwinds which are very common to the islands this time of year. Hardly the fault of NWA or the 330!

The DC-10 did do the work faster.

A333 Cruising Alt: 545 mph
DC-10 Cruising Alt: 550 mph

But there is a stronger than usual jet stream today, FWIW.

Ahh, to protect the innocent and all that. Fair enough but if you see a 6' blond haired guy with a slight Boston accent looking at you funny it will be me trying to figure out how to ask the question:

" um, I think I may know you but we have never met"....no that sounds weird"

"Are you a Flyer talker?" ......No, because if it is not the person he/she will likely back away slowly and call the authorities...

Anyway GREAT JOB and I will be on the 742 final run. I will put some miles aside so I can be up front and some cash just in case you all beat me to the award seats!
