On the subject of earning miles on US carriers through Canadian credit cards, maybe it is time to organise an online petition/poll to ask for such a product?
What are the choices besides a plethora of aeroplan mile earning credit cards?
The RBC BA and the MBNA Alaska are the only 2 airline cards earning straight to airlines that are not Aeroplan. Meager choice.
And there are only 2 conversion programs, Amex MR and RBC Avion.
That's all there is in Canada, meager. Petition UA, AA, DL anyone?

Well the Capital One Delta card is toast. I was considering it too, pretty good redemption for flights to French Polynesia via AF.

DL seems to have disappeared... which sucks, hopefully the product will continue for existing cardmembers...

I have never been denied for a Chase card when applying on the phone. TD will not approve you in my experience if you have had an App in the previous 90 days. Just my experience

CIBC aerogold business card
I applied via phone today. Oh my god they were asking for all kind of info. I now have to fax t4 jacket and NOA. I have a business so and I gave what was in my tax return. so I am not worried. I was tired at the end of the call.
May be I should have applied online.

Additionally, many of you followed my advice, I suspect, and took advantage of the now-defunct points.com transfer of Aeros indirectly to AA. Your AA accounts are well padded now with 160K+ AA miles if you maxed out 2014 and 2015 limits like each member of our churn team in Canada did.

It asks for all Business info there - name, months in business, % ownership, yearly revenue & profit
but I didn't need to fax anything when I called in later to follow up, and they approved me on the phone

Not true. There is an oft-overlooked conversion program that is better in Canada than the US: SPG. MR transfer rates are better in Canada. And earning rates are 20% better, because of the lower dollar. Plus referral rates are better. I've been pushing SPG as a very viable MR transfer partner for a while now. From SPG, you can transfer to many US and Global airlines. Admittedly, UA is not an SPG transfer part you'd want to use. But you could transfer to SQ and book UA flights w/o YQ that way. I did that last week for my son and future wife for their honeymoon to Hawaii. Worked like a charm!

I totally missed points.com transfer of aeroplan to AA?

the SPG AX is a good program, especially given the CAD/USD rate right now, though the price of the card itself is high, and it inexplicably doesn't give bonus Starpoints at SPG properties.

I transfered 100K AP for 2 years, and now have 160K AA miles this way, planning to use it for off-peak to Europe 20K one-way (4 paxs R/T = 4x40K)

We did that to Rome 2 years ago, off-peak. 7 of us, and it worked marvelously!

I agree with you, though, unless you're booking a lot of these flights, the minor differences in taxes and fees isn't worth transferring Starpoints to SQ for United flights. Much better bets would be AS and AA for US carriers.

For those interested in the recently launched BMO CashBack World Elite Mastercard, mine had been declined (second card in the app-o-rama, first decline, others approved after that one). I called today to find out why and what the criteria are.
Apart from the income requirement (which is OK in my case) for this card they want to see 6 months without any credit inquiries or changes (new lines appearing) to the file.
