[Expired] SPG Amex - 30,000 bonus Starpoints

Today I received an offer in the snail mail for the SPG Amex card with 30,000 points! I wonder if anyone else got it.

Details:
10,000 bonus points after first purchase
20,000 bonus points when you spend $4,500 in first 3 months
Annual fee of $65 waived for first year.

Other benefits appear the same:
- 3rd night free
- credit for 5 nights and 2 stays towards SPG status

It appears to be targeted and is better than the normal 25,000 points offered. I did a search in the forum and didn't see any previous posts. In case anyone is thinking about applying lately, make sure you check your mail!
No link though. The letter has an RSVP #.

I wonder too.

Do you have any other AXP cards, specifically the SPG AXP? (past or present)

Your profile doesn't say you have SPG status, so it's probably not tied to your SPG activity.

No, never had the SPG card or status. I've had an old AXP for almost 10 years now and applied for the AMEX Gold card 2 months ago.

I like the spend requirements better on this one as opposed to the ads I keep seeing online. Bummer that it is targeted.

this offer is very appealing. Is there an offer code? Anything we can reference, if somebody makes a call to AMEX?

2nd best SPG offer I've ever seen. Previous one was 35k but thats no longer valid.

If you're not a card holder, this is an offer to jump on.

I read somewhere recently that one can sometimes
get another SPG AMEX card w/bonus after about two years.

Does that sound right,
despite the standard "once per lifetime" T&C ??

Smile

This is the one I've been waiting for. Is it Personal or Business?

Well I just gave the AmEx application folks a call at 877-621-2639 just to see if I had been targeted; and they said that I was not targeted because this offer was sent out by Starwood, not American Express. Who knows if that's true or not, but I'll stand by to see what other find out in terms of links/codes.

Now I'm wavering between the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the Chase Ink Bold, and this Starwood AmEx. Oh the choices.

The offer I got is for a personal card.

There is a POID listed on the letter... Is that the offer code? Phone number listed is 800-297-9008
POID: T952:0001

And I just noticed my SPG# is listed on the letter. I only have less than 1k points there with one stay a few years ago though.

If it has a 14-digit RSVP code you should be able to apply at:

https://www201.americanexpress.com/c...ct=6&page=home

[Or, you can give it to me and I'll try it out for you. ]

EDIT: I called SPG Customer Service for kicks and they claim not to be familiar with this offer and the POID was not their number. Guess I'll have to just sit by the mailbox.

I called the number listed and they told me that they only have a 10,000 bonus for the first purchase and don't even have the 15,000 for the next 15,000 in spending. The CSR told me he had never heard of that offer. Bummer.

A tad off topic but if you go for the Chase Sapphire Preferred make sure you go with the 50,000 pt offer. (as opposed to the lesser offers obviously)

For the mods - if we can get the title changed from "SGP" to "SPG" it might help in some searches down the road.
