Do not call the airlines under any conditions! This is the fastest way to kill the trick and bring unwanted attention to your itinerary! And do not post precious deals in this thread, this is by far the fastest way to kill the trick!

************************************************** ******
This is NOT the right place to ask: "Can you help me with a low fare for AAA-BBB?" This is not the beg-it thread, but the trick-it thread.

This thread deals with unique combinations of routes and booking tricks in order to lower prices on airline fares. Prices that would astound the general public are often achieved by the posters in this thread.

Many people, including airline representatives, monitor this thread. For that reason, it is unorganized, very content heavy, often lacking details, and written in shorthand. It takes patience and effort in order to understand the conversation and be able to participate as an active member.

We encourage you to read the entirety of this thread if you would like to get started and to experiment as soon as you understand the gist of Trick It. Lots of time spent reading, practicing, and learning is the only way to be able to reproduce our tricks and discover new ones yourself. There are many, many people who ask for advice here, so productive members are only able to help those who have shown a concerted effort and progress over a long period of time (months).

If you have no idea what this thread is about, a good place to start are various blogs' posts on the subject. At the very least, read the Rules for posting in this thread. They're also listed in the very first post, below.

I imagine the QR question is coming up because of the sizable YQ on these J fares. No eoe, only side trips allowed

They haven't had any pricing mistakes this year. So I'm missing my QR J fill :-P

Is there some MATRIX trick I'm not aware of.

A particular fare is back from C2-C6 (via C1), offering a nice 1240e base, with 888yq.

Now I throw in a number of 1x's and they are successful dropping the 888yq to 0. However, they force the fareclass up from K class to M or P class (P being business).

When I try and specify f BC=k I receive 0 results.

Just wondering if I'm using Matrix wrong, and hence it is forcing out the higher booking codes.

Or am I picking the wrong 1x's for this (i have tried 3 different carriers in 3 regions).

Yes !
Depends on your airports of departure and arrival.

One explanation is that the fare type you are trying to trick is not compatible with the strike fare (although the carriers are) and thus a different (higher) fare is used (M instead of K)...

You are using Matrix correctly and matrix is doing its job properly.

The answer to the puzzle (so as to why matrix does that) lies in the rules, that are generally written all in CAPS.

C1/C2.5 advice

Hi, new to FT.

I have found a chocolatey fare C1N-C2.5 that is 60% YQ. I can remove all of that with 1Xs, but they are not flyable for me (C4b or C6). Any advice on how to start looking for 3Xs, C1/C2 1Xs, or C2/C2.5 2Xs would be appreciated (or advice on whether looking for this fare is worthwhile at all).

Sorry for being a noob.

Thanks

Why bother with posting deals (and on top of that - masking city pairs) that are on the blogs (F4F) and do not deal with FD? The blog have put the details already in clear text so the deal is widely open and known. In addition the tickets aren't tricked or error fare at all.. Just last minute offers to fill up empty plane. It surely is a good price, but this forum isn't the right one to post these deals. In fact GOI-LON was even cheaper, at 30 EUR or so.

The city pairs are:
GOI-MOW
& GOI-LON

Ok guys,

I'm a newbie but I read enough to try doing something myself.

I found a C2 - C1.5 with a 45% YQ. EoE are permitted within France !

I found a 3X (within France on this exact same Airline) who cost 1/4 of the YQ but when I tried to do the Multi-City system, it was nearly 2x the price of the initial flight plan..

What I am doing wrong ?

Thanks.

Did you check the fare rules on your candidate 3x? Also not everything prices out in ITA...

Hi,

Welcome to the playroom.

Please consider this:
- Not because EoE is permitted the dump is working necessarily.
- The airline you are dealing with has locked down most of multi city combinations. And when the(ir) system allows the combination, it usually prices in the highest fare bucket.
