For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.

----

NOTE: You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----

*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")

NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

I watch for SIN deals and have seen postings where people suggest seeing deals for China Eastern on Priceline or Orbitz but can't tell if I were to book there how that would link to Delta MQMs. I look for JHN/MEL as well. December looks worse so I am trying to squeeze this in Nov
I am not exactly sure what you mean by "link to Delta MQMs". This is my answer based on what I think you are asking: when you make the booking you can enter your Delta SkyMiles number (most online booking agencies has a place where you enter your frequent flyer number) or give it at check-in so your flights are credited to Delta.

Have MQD waiver satisfied. As of now will finish the year right at 50k MQMs, which will be a painful downgrade from DM. Have had all Delta AMEX except for business Reserve, so sign-up bonus will give me 10k MQM (as well as lounge access for next year), which is worth $450. So that leaves 15k MQM for PM.

If you want to do this in one trip, you're probably looking at a long weekend. A SIN RT would be the obvious one if cheap fares are still available, but check the MQM earnings carefully for the route. MSP-NRT-SIN was about 9,000 MQM @100% per direction, assuming no direct flights, so it should roughly equal or exceed this from your airports. There are also cheap coach fares to PVG and PEK, but a Chinese visa is generally required (about $160 plus visa agency fees, passport photos, and FedEx charges). Otherwise, look for super cheap PS fares to Asia; MSP-HND RT has been available for under $1500 on some dates and at 150% earning, is just under 18,000 MQMs.

Other possibilities would be two coach RTs to Europe (two weekends). Even at 150%, few European routes from the east coast would get you enough miles. If you're looking for domestic trips, remember ANC as a route that earns lots of MQMs very efficiently as it's far and involves some overnight flights.

Not sure what you consider "1st week" but a consideration if you can travel on the second weekend:

Nov 8 - 10, MCI-CPT, $1077, 21000+ MQMS, just under 2 hours in Cape Town, Delta flexible date search

Just a fyi as i've seen questions posted before on this routing. Just finished this trip last weekend JFK - LHR - JNB on Virgin Atlantic.

Fare $1079 economy delight purchased on VS website. Important when it ask you for your frequent flyer number to input your Delta SM number.

Final posting numbers credited 3 days after trip.

MQM 22,680
MQD $4,536
RDM earned as diamond 44,452

Probably one of the best bang for buck options there are considering the RDMs at 1-cent a mile drops the fare down to $640 spent. Looking at a SFO - LHR - JNB in November roughly same price but will give little better earnings.

Hi folks - thanks in advance for the help! I have been looking through this thread & googling some of the suggested mileage runs from NYC. However, majority have gone up in pricing or do not work for the dates I've been searching for.

Additionally, having some trouble with finding China Eastern flights that translate to 100% MQM in economy so was hoping for more insight on this piece...

See details below!
Departure Airport: NYC (Any)
Miles Needed: ~20K
Required Spend or Budget: Least amount of spend possible.. already fulfilled spend for platinum, but need MQMs
Available Travel Dates: Weekends / Thurs-Sun 10/24, 10/31, 11/14, 12/5
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: Yes as long as they can translate to MQMs

Almost all the China Eastern flights earn 100% MQM even the deeply discounted ones (Class T,G and Z). What booking classes are you looking at?

e.g. China Eastern, JFK-SIN, Oct. 24 - 26, $623 (booking classes V,B,B,S)

Hi everyone, new to the game, and looking to learn.

I'm not sure how much travel I have for work until the end of the year, so I'd like to mop up the remaining requirement for Platinum. I'm totally fine just flying around for a day or two, or I can turn it into a mini vacation. Thanks in advance!

Departure Airport: RDU.
Miles Needed: 15K.
Required Spend or Budget: Flexible, but would love to keep it as low as necessary.
Available Travel Dates: Any time between now and the end of the year, except for Thanksgiving week.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:

You could do two trips to Anchorage to get the necessary mileage (about 7800 MQMs per trip). Saturday trips with immediate turn in Anchorage in Novembers start at $501 (BE)

To get the 15K miles in one trip, fly first class to Hawaii. Some Saturday departures are as low as $2000 with an immediate turn.

If you have three days, then RDU-ATL-JNB-ATL-RDU is available in November for as low as $1054 (BE) earning about 17,800 MQMs. e.g. Nov 16-17 (Saturday departure, immediate turn in JNB on Sunday, arriving back in RDU Monday morning)
