Ah, Hiddy, you called

Unfortunately I wasn't able to book fuel-dumped BA itins from LHR to NYC as part of the deal. That would have been perfect.

The difference of the refund and charge could be due to the different exchange rate that your credit card company used.

Afterall, this deal is in CAD, so a few dollars off is nothing weird to me.

Mine really added up as well, to a whole $1.40. Who is going to start the class action lawsuit so they teach that greedy Ex.ca they can't screw us over? Seriously?

There's something to be said about expecting not to pay anything, and being out a few $$ in the end.
Really? When you woke up last Friday morning you were expecting someone to pay for a trip to Vegas for you, and you expected to be displeased if you would end up paying a few dollars?

It's more a question of principle than money spent.
If someone says "it's not about the money," it's usually about the money!

Not sure if this is hilarious or pathetic. Well, I know it is not hilarious.

well, give him a break. He's not really complaining, just a little whining. But of course, nobody is going to care about your principle or "empathy" if you book 10+.

It's just like Warren Buffett whining about the extra 0.001% tax he paid on his billion profit.

The terms explaining the charge and refund procedure seem more than sufficient to inform someone using a foreign CC that they were floating the balance in loonies for a few days... Could have gone the other way!

Guys, let's relax with all this attacking about a few dollars here and there...nobody got screwed, we all got great deals, but the fact of the matter is that there's a little something called an exchange rate that fluctuates which is why I made money on some of my bookings and lost on others.

I really must not be coming off right. I'm not whining or complaining or asking for empathy. I actually came out ahead from FTFs but I can understand others perspectives expecting free travel and getting stuck with a small bill.

Its known as mental accounting and most people at one point or another will suffer this logical fallacy. So calm down everybody, who cares about who cares about few dollars.

Edit: empathy is not the same as sympathy

Actually, Warren is a proponent of rich folks paying more.

See <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0mNKh7lYE4> starting at 5:12 on.

For those of you that haven't seen this... it is absolutely destructive to the thought that the rich are overtaxed. I don't want this thread to turn political, but in the context of refunds, credits, taxes, etc. there's relevancy in referring you to watch it.

Does anyone know why this thread keeps bouncing between MR and MR discussions?
