Thanksgiving LAX/SAN to BRU on DL,KL for $2,258 ai

This is among the already-mentioned Thanksgiving weekend-only fares. It's one of the better one's from the west coast. Bookable on Delta.com

Sample routings:

LAX-AMS-BRU (all on KL)
SAN-SEA-AMS-BRU
LAX-ATL-BRU

I booked the one with the KL 747 LAX-AMS for a mini-vacation.

Except that if we are talking about Thanksgiving fares, I believe UA has suspended LAX-LHR for most of the Thanksgiving week. It's not operating the 20th through the 25th of November, I think. (Please ignore my post if you were talking about non-Thanksgiving fares.)

That is correct re outbound, twoaisleplane. Inbound nonstop is still available for most dates the fare is good for.
Also LAX-PVG is not operating on 23 Nov.

For those based in the UK:
Bangkok on Etihad for £1475 - book by Aug 31st, travel Jan-Jun 2012

http://www.etihadairways.com/sites/E...viewmore=VRNRC

Offers also being posted by Qatar - not quite as good, but Singapore for £1780 caught my eye as about £500 lower than normal. Again, book by end of August, but travel seems to be for remainder of this year.

Sample dates 6-16.10

OSL-DOH-BKK RT AI 1412EUR

That's a steal. Availability seems wide open through March 2012.

Wow, excellent. Many other carriers, too -- AC, LH, LX, DL, AF, CO, UA, BD (op by UA), IB in the same range. Of course it only seems to be Thanksgiving week and not much broader (based on my cursory search).

By the way, fares in the $3,000 range are relatively common on such routings, but KE has some fares around there for TPE/BKK-SFO/LAX throughout November. CA, CI, NH a bit more. Also CA from HKG. Again not that hard to find, but a decent price.

Edited to add: You can take the KE A380 on the ICN-LAX leg, e.g., BKK-LAX around $3,050 round-trip in November.

Also, slightly less typically, KE from CNX (Chiang Mai) or DPS to SFO/LAX also around $3,100.

Yes, I think the airlines realize that most people aren't taking European vacation over thanksgiving because they have to see family. Also, business flights drop precipitously from the USA during these dates becasue of Thanksgiving. They realize this, and drop the prices because they know there are few people who can and will take advantage of this....

Are the taxes & surcharges on top of that? If yes, it would not be that competitive of a fare, albeit probably one of the better C-products out there.

Why not try a booking? I just did on NZ's site and it's $1931 base fare. $2235 is taxes incl.
