Welcome to FlyerTalk.

Absolutely. No restriction on both using a previously-earned cert and earning a new one on the same stay. Just remember, you can only use one BB for each two-nights of a stay.

A BB can also be combined with the EEO “Buy One Weekend Night, Get One Weekend Night Free” promotion. Several posts about how some members have actually made money on their stays when combining BB with an EEO. I used them on a shopping package rate and netted +$30 in cash/gift cards.

New question: How do we get BB's?

We have focussed the discussion on using BB's. I am wondering how you get them in the first place. I did a search on the MR website and came up with this promo: Never Ending Getaway Rates Plus up to $100BB. It's booked with M11 and seems to be mid Atlantic states.

http://marriott.com/rewards/mesOffer...splayLink=true

I found separate listings for Louisville, Park City, Saudi Arabia, CT, MA, NJ, NY and RI. All of these involve an M-11 rate.

So, are you all getting your BB's at only hotels in the areas mentioned above using M-11? Or are there other ways to get them (from Marriott) that I have overlooked? How does one get the PP's?

I was gifted some BB's by FT'rs and they were a Godsend for some end of year Mattress Runs and one necessary stay coming up next week. A big thank you to the generous FT'rs who helped me out!!!

Thanks for your ideas and Merry Christmas to all the wonderful folks who post here!

There are lots of ways to get Bonus Bucks:

1. Marriott often offers special rates that include Bonus Bucks. Right now, it's only a few M11 rates, but these offers have been much more common at other times.

2. You can buy things. I got $300 worth a couple of years ago when I bought a computer!

3. You can buy the Bonus Bucks themselves on e-bay for about 20-30% of face value. (This is a violation of the terms and conditions, but they are transferable.)

4. Someone can give you one, which happened to me when my sister-in-law got one at a Marriott. She travels very seldom and didn't expect ever to use it.

5) (In addition to the above) in the UK until some time ago they were giving 100Pounds vouchers for stays paid with VISA.

6) If you get a marriott visa card through Halifax in the UK you'll get another 100 pounds voucher (before you get jelous note this is a much worse product in terms of benefits than the one for US/Canadian residents).

How do you find Marriott currency converter page? Thank you in advance.

I was given two $50 bonus bucks upon checking out of a 3 night stay with the M11 rate at the Washington Dulles Marriott Suites instead of one $100 bonus buck. I called Marriott's customer service line and they transferred me to the front desk supervisor at the hotel I stayed at. He told me that it is permissible to redeem two $50 bonus bucks while staying only two consecutive nights at a Marriott property.

This was news to me since the fine print in the back says you can only turn in one bonus buck for every two consecutive nights. The supervisor's name is Cesar. I will be trying to redeem both $50 bonus bucks for one two night stay this weekend to see if that is the case.

Well, there may be another way to do it, but what I do is this:

When you enter the dates and city in the "Find and Reserve" and get your list of hotels, there is a link to "currency calculator" under the map. Also, when you go to "Step 2", Select Rates, you willl get a list of available rates and on the righthand side of that screen, is a link to "currency calculator".

Unfortunately, these are javascript pop-up windows, so I can't just embed a link to it here.

Surprised nobody said anything. But most people would consider 2 $50 BB more valuable than 1 $100 BB, since $50 one can be redeemed at the lower end properties as well.

This is an advantage, but the counterbalancing disadvantage is that you have to stay 4 nights, instead of 2. Obviously, some people would prefer to receive one $100 certificate, others two $50 certificates. I'm in the first group.

I have had front desk employees accept 2 $50 Bonus Bucks for a 2 day stay before. I would submit one at check-in, and then submit one later in your stay, particluarly to front desk employees on a different shift. That's one way to maximize your hotel savings.

Bonus Bucks will have the greatest effect particularly when hotel rates per night range from $49-$79 per night. For example, a Marriott hotel cost $79 plus tax per night for two nights. That's $158.00 minus a $100.00 Bonus Buck equals $58.00 (plus tax) for 2 nights. ^

So can marriott BB be used w/ AAA rate??? For 4 rooms, do i get 4 SWA RR credits?

Just got off the phone with Marriott customer service, they said that bonus bucks may only be used with public rates.

From what im reading on this forum, they can be used with discounted rate. I guess im supposed to make reservation online, then call later and tell them to note that i will be using BB coupon.

Has anyone been turned down or had their rate change to public rate when they checked in and presernted bonus bucks????

I am planning to book 4 rooms (same weekend). Marriott is part of southwest rapid rewards, would I qualify for 4 RR credits or just 1? I called SWA c.s. they werent sure but were leaning towards "just 1" as being the answer.

I just used a $100 bonus buck for a stay at the Marriott City Center in Salt Lake City booked at a package rate of $89 per night including breakfast.

From what has been posted by some people who have been around these boards for some time; it seems that you will get Night Credit for Only 1 Room, but can earn points for UP to 3 rooms Only. Your name has to be on all the rooms and the payment has to be made by you, I also THINK (Not sure) that All 3 rooms have to be on 1 Reservation, so dont know if that would hamper the use of using BBs for more then 1 room.

According to the T&Cs of the BBs , there is a tel# on the back that you are to call and they will make the res for you. Ive made them online and when I checked-in simply gave them to the person checking me in and No problem. This has been done with rates of all kinds. I would think if you made an OnLine res and then called up you'd probably will be told you cant use it with that rate, unless you booked a Rate that was without any codes eg AAA or Senior or Govt, or any specific Code in the code box.

so you might have to forgo the Pts on the 2 other rooms (3 max including yours) in order to use BBs for each room? Check it out as I have NEVER booked more then 1 room , with or without using BBs

has anyone else been as Lucky as Marcel, I know numerous people who have tried and ALL of them were told its "1 per every 2 nights and you already gave 1 in".

people have posted where they were able to hand them in at checkout, others I know said they were denied at checkout and shown where it says at Check_in , then again many people have been able to get them accepted even though the rate they were on didnt qualify.
