Fremont Marriott was the best. Used the Premium Pounds on a weekend stay-for-breakfast and paid a whopping $22 for two nights and eight breakfasts!

I made a reservation for January 2006 and was told by the reservations agent that it was only good on the rack rate. After some discussion, he went ahead and made the reservation for me, but said he couldn't guarantee that the hotel would honor it. A discount off the rack rate is USELESS.

Was wonderig if u have used it recently at Fremont Marriott? I need to books for March. Phone customer service said it is only valid on public rate, not AAA rate but it seems like discounted rate w/ BB is working for everyone on this forum. Difference b/w public and discounted rate is only about $10/nite but any savings is nice.

According to the T&Cs of the BBs , there is a tel# on the back that you are to call and they will make the res for you. Ive made them online and when I checked-in simply gave them to the person checking me in and No problem. This has been done with rates of all kinds. I would think if you made an OnLine res and then called up you'd probably will be told you cant use it with that rate, unless you booked a Rate that was without any codes eg AAA or Senior or Govt, or any specific Code in the code box.

so you might have to forgo the Pts on the 2 other rooms (3 max including yours) in order to use BBs for each room? Check it out as I have NEVER booked more then 1 room , with or without using BBs

Craz,

Usually, when I tried to get a reservation for more than one room, the reservationist stated that they would give me a confirmation number for each room. This may vary from one reservationist to another.

I never used BBs for more than one room either. I think, in theory, that if you booked more than 3 rooms in your name, you should be able to use the BBs toward the other rooms. You may want to apply the Bonus Bucks during different times during your stay.

As you mentioned earlier, you earn points for up to 3 rooms per stay, and if pay with a MR Visa Card, you will earn an additional 3 points for every $$ spent at a hotel.

From what im reading on this forum, they can be used with discounted rate. I guess im supposed to make reservation online, then call later and tell them to note that i will be using BB coupon.

Has anyone been turned down or had their rate change to public rate when they checked in and presernted bonus bucks????

I am planning to book 4 rooms (same weekend). Marriott is part of southwest rapid rewards, would I qualify for 4 RR credits or just 1? I called SWA c.s. they werent sure but were leaning towards "just 1" as being the answer.

In my experience, I have never been denied the right to use the BBs. Usually, upon check-in they would accept them. Since front end employees deal with a lot customers daily, they have always accepted them from me.

I used 3 BB for 3 room / 2 day stay. Coupons were accepted at checkout without any problems on Leisure Links (XML) rate. The points / night credit hasn't been posted yet, though.

Huh?

What's stupid about them?

Konsultant Jan 4, 2006 11:58 am

Pardon my arrogance, can Bonus Bucks or Premium Pounds be used on corporate rate?

bdschobel Jan 4, 2006 12:01 pm

Not negotiated corporate rates. Only "publicly available" rates. But many front desks are not so fussy. You have nothing to lose by trying.

Yes, you should be able to use it on the corporate rate. On the back of the BBs, it indicates that it can be used for all publicly listed and available room rate packages.

[Moderator's note: I disagree with this information. See below.]

Thanks. I was not sure what consitutes publicly listed corporate rate.

bdschobel Jan 4, 2006 12:11 pm

This is bad advice. The rules -- which are often ignored, as we all know -- say that Bonus Bucks cannot be used on negotiated corporate rates. If your company has negotiated a special rate with Marriott, don't plan on using Bonus Bucks.

Last weekend, I went back to the Washington Dulles Marriott Suites for a two night stay. The supervisor, Cesar, checked me in and took my two $50 Bonus Bucks.

Marcell Jan 5, 2006 9:31 pm

Once, I checked into a Marriott with M11 code inquiring about the BBs at check-in. The man asked me for my addresss, and said they would mail it to me. I assumed they would lose it or that it wouldn't be much of a priority. Since they were supposed to give it to me, I came back later in my stay and asked another front desk employee for the BB that I never received and sure enough she gave it to me. Two-three days after I checked out, I received an envelope in mail from the Marriott hotel. I opened it and to my surprise, they actually mailed me the other BB.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before?

Marcell Jan 5, 2006 11:02 pm

I understand that the Bonus Bucks (m11) promotion that was to expire on December 31, 2005 will continue through 2006. That's good. I will be able to save up quite a bit of BBs to use at a later date. The hotel savings will really add up.
