Can't wait to see if the MegaBonus Promotion will come again this year. I could use another surge in points right about now.

I wouldn't expect it until after the current double points promo finishes at the end of the month.

The timing is right, though. :)

Here's hoping.

MegaBonus Returns! 2/15 - 5/15

Continuing an annual tradition, Marriott Rewards will be running their MegaBonus again this year from February 15 through May 15. While the link is not yet on the Marriott Rewards home page, a slight adjustment to last year's URL shows what's in store for this year. I have not registered yet since the promotion is still a month away, but I was able to dig up some details...

Promo Page: http://marriott.com/rewards/promotio...promotion=MGS6

Here are the potential bonuses, only one of which members can receive...

MGS61 - Earn 2,500 points per stay, beginning with 2nd stay, up to 10,000 pts
MGS62 - Earn 5,000 points every 3rd stay, up to 25,000 pts
MGS63 - Earn 10,000 points every 3rd stay, up to 30,000 pts
MGS64 - Earn 25,000 points for staying 15 nights or more
MGS65 - Earn 35,000 points for staying 20 nights or more

Terms:
Credit toward the above indicated Marriott Rewards MegaBonus is given for stays with Marriott between February 15 and May 15, 2006. Registration is required. Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit. The details of this offer, including the number of stays needed to achieve your bonus, and the number of bonus points awarded, are not transferable. A stay is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion.
Stays made prior to registration count toward the promotion, however the FAQs indicate that "if you check out on the day the promotion begins, 2/15/06, then you will not be eligible for bonus points for that stay."

Thread discussing last year's, 3/1/05 - 6/1/05, MegaBonus promotion.

Awesome find, and will help us plan. Looks like I woud be happy with any of them except what is behind "door number one" - limit of 10K points.

GoCubs Jan 15, 2006 10:34 am

I registered - got the 15 nights = 25K bonus.

Still not as great as this fall's double points w/ Visa promotion, but it's still very helpful ^

Thanks for the heads up pointsofinterest, I don't know how you're always the first to know about such things but glad you are! :D

I got the 5k per every third stay up to 25k.

TOMSURFER Jan 15, 2006 10:58 am

Well spotted !

I note as usual, I am on the worst option of 5,000 points every third stay, maximum 25,000 points. Long term platinums who stay every week always get the worst deal as it just isn't possible to get 15 stays in 13 weeks, when you stay in the same place 3 or 4 nights a week. :(

"MGS61 - Earn 2,500 points per paid stay, starting with 2nd stay, up to a total of 10,000 points" for me. :( Not enough incentive to move any stays to Marriott.

not true...I stay at the same hotel every week and I got the 35k for 20 nights offer...

Additionally, as a Platinum you can usually call Customer Support and request a different promotion, usually with success.

Oh-so-thank-U ^!
I wanted #3 but got #2:
Earn 5,000 points every 3rd stay, up to 25,000 pts.
Wat I really wanted was the return of X14s ! The 2002--3 promo in which stays earned 2 Cat. 4 weekend nights.

From marriott.com :
Do stays made prior to registration count toward the promotion?

Yes, as long as you register during the promotion, and a check-in or check-out date falls within the promotion date range. The only exception is if you check out on the day the promotion begins, 2/15/06, then you will not be eligible for bonus points for that stay.

registered - got the 15 nights = 25K bonus, not too bad. Wish I got the 20 nights = 35k, but oh, well.

Not neccessarily true. First, it's not the worst out of the options. Second, I'm a Gold going down to Silver next month and I got the same as you. As I've said many times in the past, I'm just happy to get a decent promo. Maybe I didn't get the best but this is a decent promo in my eyes.
