So I log onto my account, and there's a big square with "Mega Bonus Promotion" "Earn 1000's of Points" plastered all over it.

With trembling fingers, I clicked on it, only to come up with a screen telling me something about technical difficulties accessing my account.

Hmmmm. I remember last year's Mega Bonus promo -- have I stepped in the Twilight Zone with an old copy from my cache, or is there really a new promotion starting?

Saw it too... about an hour ago. Definitely new. Though they've taken the graphic down since (it was where the valentine's "Toast for Two" graphic appears on the home page). Must have been a trial run.

Last year's MegaBonus promotion began on February 15 (ended May 15). Here's hoping that Marriott allows us to repeat the bonus this time around. Last year we could only get the bonus once (7 nights = 10,000 points, and you're done).

I've never seen Web development like what's going over there at Marriott... it's like they use the production ("live") environment for testing. The "My Account" link hasn't worked for the past day (it's back now) and before that they had two "My Account" links!

Except that Plats could call up and wheedle nicely, and get the additional 25K (for an additional 10 or 15 nights or whatever) Sweet!

OK, the deal that I was just offered (as Platinum) is to stay 20 nights between 3/1 and 6/1 of this year and receive 30,000 bonus Marriott points.

I don't know if that is a standard, or if others will be offered different night requirements or bonuses.

Registration is required; award stays don't count, and you must be earning Marriott points (not airline miles) to receive this bonus.

Of course, it is on top of the points you would already accrue for your stays.

Was there any connection to a particular credit card? Amex/Visa/MC

Just offered? You mean on the phone or by mail? After reading your post I lept to the website and ... again it's a Valentine's Day promo.

I just went to the Marriott website as well and was not able to access any promotions. Could they be targeted and only available to those who are preselected?

Me neither. The timing would be good. I'm trying to decide between a poor Embassy Suites and probably a generic Courtyard starting in March. The bonus points would put me over!

So how did you receive this offer? Inquiring minds want to know!

OK, call me a tease.....

I simply reviewed the info from the 2004 promo, and saw that you could register by calling 1-888-MARRIOTT

So, I called that number tonight and the recording said I had reached the Marriott MegaBonus enrollment line. I entered my Marriott Rewards number when prompted, and was registered and given the conditions I outlined in the previous post.

The dates given are new and the parameters I received are different than those I received in 2004.

(And apologies in advance to Chris if I overstepped Marriott Corporate bounds.)

Worked for me. painless registration. Thanks, OP. But not sure if I would do this promo or the NWA mission for miles.

I just called and they offered me a big MEGA bonus of 2 stays to earn a SCREAMING 5,000 bonus points. I believe last year I got an offer of 7 nights for 10,000 points.

This will actually work okay for me since I am more of a Hilton guy with a smattering of Hyatt/Marriott/Starwood stays.

It sure beats any promo that Hilton is offering now.

Link Up!
Link is up: https://marriott.com/rewards/promoti...promotion=MGS5

Here are the potential bonuses, only one of which we can receive...

MGS5A - Earn 2500 points every stay, starting with 2nd stay up to 10000 pts
MGS5E - Make 2 stays, get 5000 points
MGS5F - Earn 5000 points every 3rd stay, up to 25000 pts
MGS5K - Earn 5000 points every 5 nights, up to 25000 pts
MGS5P - Make 3 stays, get 10000 points total
MGS5Q - Stay 15 nights, get 20000 points total
MGS5R - Stay 20 nights, get 30000 points total

I'm a new plat and was offered MGS5F, but would really like MGS5R. Think I'd have any luck with a call to the platinum line?

I followed the link pointsofinterest posted and was instructed to log in. Then it said to register using the form at right, but there was no form at right. Another text on the page said I was already registered. I clicked on the FAQ link to find out I got the 20 nites 30K points. I'm happy with that.

I post all this to help others who might have difficulty navigating the screens.
