Does anyone knows if the "time share presentation promo" counts as a stay. Got one of those 5 days 4 nights offer for attending a time share presentation. Was thinking about using it, now this gives me more of a reason to do so.

My travel is somewhat seasonal. I do have some stuff coming up Feb-May, but its a relatively slow period for me. Biggest share of my travel is in the fall (and if they look at my record of stays, that will prove it).

I got 20/35 when I signed up...which would be fantastic if I can do it! But I wonder if they'd let be back it down to one of the other two levels. I certainly anticipate no problem making plat again in '06.

Thinking as a businessperson, I could argue this either way. If they back me down...they take away the incentive for me to travel more. But they still show their appreciation for me by rewarding continued loyalty during a slower period.

Its not that I don't travel during the spring. Doing some quick math, I anticipate about 12-15 nights. Getting that up to 20 could be problematic, however.

In past years, Platinum members were allowed to make one change in promotion. If you don't like what they assigned you, ask for something else. You have nothing to lose.

I agree with cactuspete. The promotions are unique and distinct and share only a name. Merging them was a bad idea and increases confusion. Closing the old thread with message directing members to new thread is the more sensible solution. The combined thread is now too long, muddled and difficult for a newcomer to navigate.

I'll "third" that opinion. Was already confused about the thread title as I just figured it was from last year....but maybe I'm just slow ;)

I just logged into my account, the link was there, I'm Gold, and was pre-registered for the 15 nights = 25,000 points. Much better than last year, but still not the best... :rolleyes: I will definately not complain, but has any non-Platinum member been able to get theirs changed this year? Won't bother if it's been tried.

I just received a Marriott email mentioning the Megabonus promo. Mine was also for the 2500 bonus miles beginning with the second stay, up to 10k.

It happened again ...

Last year, was doing the MegaBonus and the job ended. Fortunately, I got another contract and finished the promo.

This year, it hasn't even started yet, and I'm back on the street! Got the 35k, too. Man, I need those points!

Well, I've got some time, so here's hoping.

Another door #1 - 2500 bonus points beginning with the second stay, up to 10k.

I got 25K points for 15 nights.

Have to say, earning free nights via head in the pillow is much easier than butt in the seat for free flights.

I agree as well. I just logged in and was shocked to see 10 pages of messages since I read this thread yesterday. After skimming a few pages, I noticed the dates. I was questioning my memory as well since I thought I had remembered 35K points when I signed up yesterday but kept reading 30K in what I believed to be the current thread. Very confusing!!
