My wife and I both got our usual monthly account update/newsletter e-mail today. The Megabonus was featured and we both got the 2,500 per stay after the second stay. This seems to be the norm for those with infrequent stays (sub-silvers).

I got 20 nights for 35000.
Now I wish I can find a Marriott under $100/night in Minneapolis so I can take advantage of this.

I got 35k points for 20 nights. What I liked about this promotion was that I was already registered and didn't have to do any legwork on my own.

Was preregistered for 15 nights / 25000 points. Asked for 20 nights /35000 points, CSR said that due to my status (?) they couldn't change it, but he documented the call, offered his name and extension, and said as soon as I complete the 20 nights that he'd do a manual adjustment. Fine by me, and they'll get the extra five nights.

I'm sub-silver... and got the 2500 per stay after the first stay. Too bad for marriott... I was trying to decide between starwood and marriott for 30 days I have coming up... and the 35000 bonus would have swayed me.

Question on stays

It says that it begins on the 15th of February. I am staying at a Marriott from the 13th-17th. Will the nights of the 15th & 16th count? Sould I check out on the 15th and back in to be safe?
Couldn't figure it out from the T&C on the website.

From post #100 in this crazy thread:

From marriott.com :
Do stays made prior to registration count toward the promotion?

Yes, as long as you register during the promotion, and a check-in or check-out date falls within the promotion date range. The only exception is if you check out on the day the promotion begins, 2/15/06, then you will not be eligible for bonus points for that stay.

Call and tell them that. I bet they'll change your promotion.

I'm not personally a fan of the Fairfield Inn locations, but if you want the bonus, and need to be under $100, most of the Fairfield locations in Minneapolis appear to be between $70-$110/night...(I searched based on later this week as you didn't have specific dates.)

I'm not sure that you could get a CY or FS for under $100 in very many places anyhow?!?

There are often full service Marriotts and Courtyards in Northern Virginia that are under $100 on the weekends. This is probably because Marriott has the highest concentration of hotels in this area of the country. They have also been building new hotels here. Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks and Courtyard Dunn Loring Fairfax have been completed in the past 6 months.

Why, what is starwood offering thats better?

Check out every few days for a day at another marriott, you'll rack up more points than you can shake a stick at.

I'm a PE for the last 4 years and I'm being offered 35K points for 20 nights between 2/15 and 5/15. The good thing is that they automatically enrolled me so all I have to do is stay those 20 nights.

Nova does indeed have a ton of MR properties.. but I still find the highest concentration of Marriott properties in the SLC area which is where I'm going earn my 20 night/35K bonus

Have you tried using the M11 code to see if the rate for certain hotels falls below $100? If this works, then you would not only get a lower rate, but the Bonus Bucks (BBs) also.

pbiflyer Feb 3, 2006 1:28 pm

If I have a stay starting on 2/13 and ending on 2/16, I realize that I get credit toward the megabonus promotion, but how many nights, 1, 2, or all 3?
I tried reading the terms and conditions, but did not see it clearly stated.
