Initial list copied from post 82. Please add any additional alternate offers you may have gotten.

Marriott has now announced the 2013 Megabonus Promotion and you are able to sign up immediately. From what I can tell here are the options available to you though you will already be assigned to one of these options when you sign into your Marriott account. Option 1 is open to anyone.

1. Free night category 1-5 certificate for every two stays. Maximum of two free night certificates.

2. 25,000 bonus points after 15 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights for total of 40,000 bonus points for 20 nights.

3. 25,000 bonus points after 12 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 18 paid nights for total of 40,000 bonus points for 18 nights.

4. 35,000 bonus points after 20 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 25 paid nights for total of 50,000 bonus points for 25 nights.

So many people seem to be having no trouble being switched to a different promotion. Interesting, considering this is the email Marriott sent me when I asked to be switched (ah well, if at first you don't succeed...annoy Marriott customer service again):

Dear tkeppers,

Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards with your request to be enrolled into an alternate version of the 2013 Fall MegaBonus promotion.

As with previous MegaBonus promotions, this one is a collection of various offers. Each member was selected for a particular version based upon an analysis of several criteria. This included, but was not limited to, stay history, current Elite status and past Elite status.

Promotions serve several purposes. They are primarily intended as an incentive for our members to stay at Marriott brand hotels. Unfortunately, there is not a perfect selection method, as some members preferences change based on travel plans. Some may value the earning of bonus points more than free night certificates, and others may value free night certificates more than points. This is one reason our promotions also change. Selection criteria for each version of this promotion were determined by the Marriott Rewards Marketing department for the purpose of obtaining research regarding travel trends.

In recognition of this, exceptions have been made for previous promotions. However, the modification of a promotional offer was an exception, not a policy. We apologize that this previously extended customer courtesy is not available for the 2013 Fall MegaBonus promotion. Unlike past promotions, Marriott Rewards Guest Services cannot change our members from the offer which they received to an alternate offer.

You have been selected to take a brief Customer Satisfaction Survey.
If you would like to participate in the survey, please click on the following link:

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Sincerely,

XXXXXX

I am new to marriott (signed up in April for unexpected bonus), got a free night in cat 1-4 hotels. Now, I am signed up for megaBOnus offer, Category 5 cert after every 2 stays, maximum 2 certs. During the duration of this promo, I have some work related travel, so I should be able to get 2 certs easily. My question is:

If I sign my wife for marriott rewards, and she gets this promo in her account, can we get the free night certs if I stay using her rewards number (she doesn't stay). This will be tried only after I have earned 2 free nights under my own account. Or, the best scenario will be, if possible:

I make reservation for 2 people (2 rooms per night), I stay under my wife's rewards number, and my colleague stays under my rewards number, so that after 2nd trip, both my wife and I have one free night cert. Is it possible> Has anyone done this or any other work around?

I will definitely have 8-10 nights during this promo, and would love to earn 4 free nights, only problem is wife will not be traveling on these business trips.

Any advice/guidance is greatly appreciated.

For the matter of good sake, please remind me how things work. I cant find it in terms and conditions.

The MegaBonus period started yesterday. On Friday I checked in at a Marriott property and I'll be here until tomorrow, may be I'll have to extend.

Will all nights, since Friday, count towards the bonus, or is it only the part of the stay that lies within the bonus time frame that will count?

Only the nights that lie within the promo period will count. Otherwise, people could book a 25 night stay that starts 24 nights before the promo to get the 50k point offer. That would defeat the point of having specific promo dates.

when a promo doesn't start until 15 SEPTEMBER (and you only need to register before mid-NOVEMBER) and other posters are demanding to register on or before 06 AUGUST then the responses, which you/others term snarky, are completely APPROPRIATE to the idiosy demonstrated by those posters DEMANDING to register 3-months beforehand....

I would call, just to ask why you don't see 'any' new promotion at all. If you have switched, you will still see the original promotion, but there should be a note in their system where your preferred promotion is recorded. Once you've met the requirement of the promotion, call in to ask them to manually adjust it.

Standard.......the originally assigned promo will continue to show up......any changes to your promo will be manually adjusted at the completion + 2-weeks......no confirmation of the manually tracked promo is sent....

Thx..I don't see "any" promo's listed for the fall promotion when logged in to. Y account..promo central. I didn't call in to switch I just called into register. What shows in my promos is the previous one from earlier in the year that I completed and haven't used the 2 nights yet, its been there for months and I remember it updating after one stay then after two stays.
For this new fall promo I should see something is what I think you are saying..that something may be a different promo than I asked for.
I'll call back tomorrow and see what's up.

my acc't details are still showing the old promo too in the right side (marked promo has ended - and it was never modified to reflect the changed to promo) of the promo page as well as showing the current promo in the left side .......

Sorry for a newbie's question here.I registered in the "stay 2 get 1 free" promo that will generate free night certificates after requied stays at Marriott hotels. My question is, after receiving a certificate, can it be used by a spouse or significant other to make the free stay? Thanks for help.

if you read the T&Cs regarding these certs the technical answer is no, however, it seems to be done all the time (as posted by repeated posters)............
and, as a proclaimed newbee, thanks for posting your question in the appropriate thread as too many others "think" their question(s) are so unique they start new threads when there are existing threads covering the exact same question.........

Welcome to FT!

Easiest is to initially redeem the free cert(s) via your account online, as if you were staying: Choose an award redemption, as you would if using points, and the cert(s) will take the place of the points as you confirm the reservation (if the property is Cat 1-5). Once reserved, simply contact the property to change the name of the person staying to whomever you want. This is perfectly allowable with other stays and the use of the cert(s) shouldn't inspire any questions or difficulties otherwise.

Ok, the promo is now listed in my online acct as of this am. Must be an overnight update period from registration via phone to showing up. All is good..thx!
