Initial list copied from post 82. Please add any additional alternate offers you may have gotten.

Marriott has now announced the 2013 Megabonus Promotion and you are able to sign up immediately. From what I can tell here are the options available to you though you will already be assigned to one of these options when you sign into your Marriott account. Option 1 is open to anyone.

1. Free night category 1-5 certificate for every two stays. Maximum of two free night certificates.

2. 25,000 bonus points after 15 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights for total of 40,000 bonus points for 20 nights.

3. 25,000 bonus points after 12 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 18 paid nights for total of 40,000 bonus points for 18 nights.

4. 35,000 bonus points after 20 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 25 paid nights for total of 50,000 bonus points for 25 nights.

Ugh...guess I am going to have to call and try to switch my offer....I really wish Marriott would let us choose at the outset

I'm with you on points vs. certs, englert... But wondered if anyone had a good reason to go certs instead...
The ONLY reason to go certs is if you don't think you'll hit your nights threshold... Otherwise, points are MUCH better. More flexibility, don't expire.

Not always. On the Summer Unexpected Bonus we got a 45K point offer. I already have 3 nights booked in Spain at a Cat 5 hotel at 25K;night.

Even if we could make the 45K, getting 2 Cat 5 certs is going to save us 50K points, so it is a better deal for us, this time.

That is true - I was thinking of a max. of 50,000 points.

Also, if you have a stay planned at a Cat. 4, getting the 3 certs would mean you come out ahead.

Definitely, 3 cat 4 certs = 60k points. There are some places that the cat 4 certs are pretty useful - e.g. FSs in China.

My offer showed up in Promotions Central this morning. Got the 35,000 / 15,000 points deal--which I wanted. I was not invited nor did I register. It just showed up automatically. This has happened previously for me with other mega deals.

I got the 50K point max offer - it is what I want. I know this is not as good as the free night but for those who want to make lifetime status (which requires a certain number of points to be earned), it is a better offer.

For those who have not gotten anything, the promotion does not start for another month, so don't panic...

If you really mean what you seem to have written, this is an offer that hasn't been reported here yet. Are you sure it's a total of 45,000 points?
