The EU, UK and HI hopper certs were different, they did not include any air miles, and have been, sadly, gone for awhile.
But I also agree it's sad they're no longer available. They were very handy on holiday trips to (e.g.,) Prague, Vienna, and Budapest. :( |

Hi,
I am planning to exchange marriott points for a travel package that includes 7 nights at a resort and air miles. Does anyone have recent experience with this? I particularly am interested in knowing how long they take to get the air miles into our account. I am looking at American Airlines. Thanks for any input. Sue |

Travel Package Changes: Ups and downs
Anyone else look at the changes to Travel Package redemptions?
While the most important airlines are all as good or better as they used to be, some of the more obscure airlines got their transfer rates cut in half. Down to half: Jetblue Virgin America ~2/3s: Aeroflot, airberlin, Air China, Air France/KLM, Alitalia, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Avianca-TACA LifeMiles, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern, China Southern, Emirates, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, LAN, Lufthansa Miles & More, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Saudia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal Up: United The good news is AA, Delta, Southwest, and US Airways are the same, with United going up. The only real loss I see is ANA, since they had some good distance-based rates. Still sad to see numbers go down. So far as I can tell, the costs have not changed |
What happended to notice and grace period ?
I thought when changes were made to the MR program - especially 'enhancements', members were given notice and a period of time to take advantage of the existing 'un-enhanced' rates ?
Edit - sorry for typo in title which I can't change |
whew, I thought I was going to see big devaluation. I am relieved there were no changes to the transfers to the major US airlines' miles or Avios. 10% bonus to United is pretty sweet.
Thanks for the unofficial announcement. |
4.The Rewards structure is subject to modification, cancellation, or limitation at the Company's discretion, with or without notice. The number of Points or Miles required to redeem any Reward may be substantially increased, any Reward may be withdrawn, and restrictions on any Reward or reward redemption (“Reward Redemption”) may be imposed at any time

IIRC, it has ALWAYS been like this...no changes...just the UA 10% bonus.
|
Yes, false alarm, only United has changed.

except if you want point out how Marriott handled their devaluation vs others. What Marriott did earlier this year was actually one of the Nicer things they have done in a long time to their elites (who tend to have the most lose in a devaluation). Also not irrelevant if you just switched your Marriott points to AA and got caught by this.
