I am ready to redeem some packages for united. Do I need to do anything to get the 10% bonus miles or simply call 1-800-321-7396? Thanks.

hi all, I decided to redeem 270k Marriott points to 120k alaska and 7 nights. When I called the agent offered 5 nights package instead of 7 nights and insisted that it is available to public. Anyway l, this was on Sunday, July 1st and the 5 nights certificate showed up right away but no alaska miles as of today July 10th. Any other experience with alaska lately? Appreciate any input. I don’t want to call Marriott in case they change my package to 7 nights. |
Actually, After the agent processed the redemption, I asked if I can get it expedited he said it was $15 which I agreed to pay but he couldn’t expedite it and said he could talk to a supervisor but honestly I was afraid the supervisor would force a 7 nights package instead so I thanked him and accepted the normal processing. I’m in no rush but it’s kind of annoying not to see your alaska # anywhere to confirm miles were sent to the right account. I will wait and see what happens. Hopefully it posts this week. |

That’s one of the biggest cases of wishful thinking I’ve seen here, but by all means go ahead and redeem your Cat 7 TP and good luck on booking your Maldives trip after the merger. By the same logic, those holding Cat 9 or Tier 1-3 TPs can look forward to 7 nights at the White House, International Space Station, or perhaps Mars. In any case, my point was that for those who don’t have immediate uses for their certificates, there’s no real downside to doing this, and only potential upside (however small they may be). |

I really wonder what will happen to my 7N Cat 6 certificate after Aug 1. Will it be rounded up or rounded down???

i am just documenting the name of the reps I talk to and which city and department. So when time comes if they try to screw me over I will have some recourse and documentation of what they told me. Even recorded the call yesterday lol
Now, if the answering robot says (as they often do) "This call may be recorded" I would argue that, even though they're probably talking about themselves recording the call, the statement is permission for you to do so as well. |
Thought I saw a thread with the new award chart for all Marriotts beginning in August. Can’t seem to find it now when I need it. Appreciate any help in locating it! thanks |

The old Cat 6 will map to the new Cat 4. Just look at what all the hotel category changes are. That is my guess, anything better than Cat 4 will be a bonus.

So, I gather that people have been more successful lately at getting 5-NIGHT travel packages ?
