That stinks, everything I have read tells me you are going to have to spend the night in MLE.
As of June 22 there are no F/B discounts in the Marriott properties in the Maldives. Has anyone heard about rumors that of new offers that are going to replace them? I, too, am being relocated from the StR to the W. So far the staff at the W has been terrific in helping us with the transfer. I am a titanium member, so I will get free breakfast. I am wondering about the beverage deal of $200pp per day. If I have to pay $12 per bottle of water, I will already be spending at least $72 per day. Do we get free water in the room? Our stay will be in the middle of an around the world trip my wif and have planned for two years. Any help/suggestion is appreciated.

Yes, you do: twice a day, they restocked the (many) reusable glass bottles in the suite that have filtered water: 2 at bedside, 2 in the bathroom, at least 2 bigger liter jugs on the counter.
(We didn't attempt to bring these to lunch or dinner, as I read somewhere above that that was discouraged/disallowed. Water's free at breakfast though!)

Our flight to the Maldives from DOH was changed and now we don't arrive in MLE until 3:50. We're sitting in J so we'll be off the plane quickly but I'm guessing that's too late to get a seaplane to the W? What would you all do? Head to the Sheraton for a night and then head to the W first thing in the morning?
. There's a very slim chance that you can make the last sea plane out if you can get past customs and collect your bags super fast. But I would definitely be ready to head over to the Sheraton for that first night. If possible, I would book it after you see you won't make it to the W; I don't think the Sheraton is the type of place that sells out.

You don't have to go to the (IMO) overpriced and not worth it Sheraton. There is an overpriced (but not as much as the Sheraton) hotel right near the airport that doesn't require a boat to get there. You could stay overnight there if necessary - but I'd check the the W first and see what they say.

I am communicating with this property regarding an upcoming stay and they are being kind of ridiculous. I am booked to fly home on AF268 which leaves at 9:10AM, which is purposely after the 9AM standard for seaplane flights to Male. The hotel is saying that their seaplane company can't guarantee same day departure and that I should move to a later flight and said that the earliest guaranteed flight is EK657 which is scheduled for...9:15AM. Wow, 5 minutes.
Hoping that once I'm on property I can just get this sorted out without issue. I told the agent via email that they can tell TMA we are booked on the EK flight if it makes things work better.

You can take a look back at some of my previous posts as we departed on AF at 9:10 or so in January. My previous posts are more detailed but long story short, It was close but we made the flight.

Updated F&B offerings
Will be at the W July 18-24. Does anyone have updated pictures or links to their menus? Received some in Dec but likely they are outdated.
Also, we are there on points. Paying ala cart for all F&B. Any packages available for F&B outside of the boards?

We are planning a special trip in early July, our first to the Maldives. We are debating the W vs. RC. As Titanium, here are the pros and cons I see:
W:
- Slightly less points
- Free breakfast
- Better house reef (?)
- Cheaper food options
RC:
- Newer, nicer hard product
- Speedboat vs. Seaplane (no weather issues, faster transfer)
- More F&B options
- Guaranteed hammock for the OWB
Could someone that has visited both properties provide any additional perspective to help make the decision? Thanks so much!

Hi Mike,
I cant speak to the comparison between the two, but I can speak to the W as I am here now on day 3 of a 5 night stay on points. I booked the Fabulous OW villa and was upgraded to the Spectacular OW villa. (I am a lifetime platinum.). The Spectacular villa has a hammock and I believe it is often available on points.
The staff here is simply amazing and to a person, they love working here and it shows. Their attention to detail, smiles and desire to please the guest is truly something special. If you choose the W, I dont think you will be disappointed.

I stayed at the W a long time ago (13 years ago) and it seems they never renovated the place, still looks the same when I stayed there.
