PLT Benefits?

Can anyone advise exactly what are the PLT benefits?

Is there free breakfast?
Is there free drinks/club?

Ya I got it that they don't upgrade but do the standard PLT benefits apply? I have search the thread and can't seem to find a clear answer.

You use your Platinum amenity for breakfast or it is USD 43 per person for breakfast. Well worth using the amenity.

Does anyone know why this property was removed from the W Retreats portfolio? I notice it's now just called the W Maldives.

I heard young children are now allowed in the resort.
Anyone been there recently?

It was a minimum age of 13 previously.

Lurkers, any answer on this? I also find it curious that the Retreat designation is no longer found for the W Maldives property. Looking for an explanation...

Hi William @Starwood Lurker. It's been a few months now since we inquired as to why Retreat was dropped from the name of this property. Any updates?

Nope. But, we just sent a reminder. If they continue to remain silent on the subject, I think we're just going to have to accept that they don't want to reveal this information outside the company.

@bhrubin, W brand's considered reply is:

"W moved away from “Retreat & Spa” globally, not just at W Maldives.
Our guests’ notion of leisure travel has changed, and we saw an opportunity to redefine the W leisure experience beyond our smaller, remote beach hotels.

W Escapes is our bold new take on leisure, with epic experiences in the world’s most desirable sand, ski and entertainment destinations.

Rock a boat party at W Barcelona or ride a motorbike through the jungle at W Bali.

Shake it up or shut it down – whatever life you lust for, live it @ #WEscapes ."
