Seclusion Day Information: March 9, 2016

Nyepi, known as the “Day of Silence,” marks the celebration of the Balinese New Year in the Hindu Lunar calendar. A spectacular procedure of ceremonies, parades of great bamboo monsters, and fireworks occur on the Eve of Nyepi, followed by a day of total silence and seclusion. The community strongly believes that if the island is silent and dark, the bad spirits will leave and the new year will start in peace. During Nyepi, from 6am until 6am the next day, the island stops. Nobody is allowed in the streets, use of electricity is restricted, and the international airport is closed.

In 2016, Nyepi will fall on Wednesday, March 9. Please note that check-in and checkout will not be possible on Nyepi Day, and Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will be closed. Some of the resort facilities will operate as usual; however, there will be no transportation services to and from the resort, and televisions will not be available. Lights will be dimmed inside and there will be no outdoor lighting. Our pools and garden areas will still be accessible except for the beach. Only indoor seating will be available at Boneka Restaurant. Gourmand Deli will close at 8pm. King Cole Bar will remain closed.

We kindly invite you to respect this sacred day and observe these restrictions. Normal activity in Bali will resume at 6am on Thursday, March 10.

Never stayed here using points (never had enough as there was no spg cc to rack it up in my country).

Roundtrip airport transfer and breakfast always included.

VIP airport service

Data point: Our prepaid rate included airport pickup and it was the VIP service, bypassing the long immigration lounge. Amazing!

I booked a 5-night reward stay for this upcoming August and in the room details, it lists "breakfast buffet complimentary" in amenities. I am assuming this means me and my future wife will be getting free breakfast during our stay despite only being gold elite? Anyone here have experience getting free breakfast on point stays at this location?

Good spot. Also have this on my reservation (screenshotted) for a points reservation later in the year. +1 for other people’s thoughts.

Does this work still? Get no availability even though pool villas are available

I called Marriott and was told that St Regis is not included in the Suite Nights program.

It was until the merger in August.

St. Regis Bali
Transportation - Starting February 2019, the complimentary return airport transfer and the airport arrival assistance is no longer included.

You think this is true ? Nice cutting beyond Marriott standards.

Just checking the hotel rates for May ... and it seems most rates did mention including airport transfer and yadda yadda.

So I guess after Feb 2019 the service is included if the rate said so and for the rate that didnt specify airport transfer, then its not included.

I did have a stay with them next week and have arrange all the transport needed without issue.

How are complimentary upgrades for Titanium’s at this property? Anyone ever been upgraded to the pool villas?

Just finish a 3 nights stay here and I like it very much.

Booked a St Regis pool Suite (no upgrade though)
And for airport transfer, since I arrive at the domestic terminal, I dont know if the vip transfer from gate is still available.

I stayed for five nights on points in mid January. I booked the "Orchid Exec Non-smoking Suite: King Bed" for 240,000 points (60k/night with the 5th night free). Despite being Titanium (PPE at the time), I asked about paid upgrades to a pool suite and was quoted "Orchid to Pool Suite Will be IDR 1,065,000 +21% tax and service". I thought this was reasonable so I accepted this offer.
Now that I have visited the property however, I wouldn't recommend the Pool Suite. The pool is under a canopy and doesn't get any sun. We found we spent all of our time in the salt water lagoon instead. The suites with direct access to the lagoon (which is really just a very large swimming pool with plenty of private nooks) would be preferable over a pool suite in my opinion.
Because we booked a Suite, we were provided with VIP pick-up at the DPS gate on our arrival from KUL. We had a private van that whisked us to VIP passport control and then we were invited to wait in a lounge while our attendants fetched our baggage. Then we were escorted to a driver who took us to the resort. This VIP service was better than the arrival service on most first class tickets!
