Seclusion Day Information: March 9, 2016

Nyepi, known as the “Day of Silence,” marks the celebration of the Balinese New Year in the Hindu Lunar calendar. A spectacular procedure of ceremonies, parades of great bamboo monsters, and fireworks occur on the Eve of Nyepi, followed by a day of total silence and seclusion. The community strongly believes that if the island is silent and dark, the bad spirits will leave and the new year will start in peace. During Nyepi, from 6am until 6am the next day, the island stops. Nobody is allowed in the streets, use of electricity is restricted, and the international airport is closed.

In 2016, Nyepi will fall on Wednesday, March 9. Please note that check-in and checkout will not be possible on Nyepi Day, and Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will be closed. Some of the resort facilities will operate as usual; however, there will be no transportation services to and from the resort, and televisions will not be available. Lights will be dimmed inside and there will be no outdoor lighting. Our pools and garden areas will still be accessible except for the beach. Only indoor seating will be available at Boneka Restaurant. Gourmand Deli will close at 8pm. King Cole Bar will remain closed.

We kindly invite you to respect this sacred day and observe these restrictions. Normal activity in Bali will resume at 6am on Thursday, March 10.

Hi everyone - first post here so I thought I'd try and ensure it was beneficial t all
I am staying at the StRegis Sep 2024 for 5 nights and I can see a lot of posts about the Gourmet pass and whether it is worth it or not - I am in the same predicament .

IMO after calculating differences of just paying for Boneka buffet each night I require, I decided to take the option as it is also includes the afternoon tea, if I visit the other restaurants on site I have to pay an upgrade fee.
If I chose steak or some higher priced meal at the Kayuputi restaurant, then it would them make it worthwhile to me.
If I visited the other restaurants, i would be paying about the same. Since I dont intend to go offsite - it seems like a no brainer.

I am posting the follow information directly from email communication with the St Regis team as of 23/01/2024 - Hope you find the following helpful
================================================== ===We are pleased to learnt that you are interest to have a room with Gourmet pass package and interest to have dinner at another restaurant during the stay.

For the information, should you book a room with Gourmet pass package and if you need to have dinner at Kayuputi restaurant then there will be an additional charge as below details:

3 Course: IDR 405.000 net/person/1x dinner
4 Course: IDR 605.000 net/person/ 1x dinner
5 Course: IDR 805.000 net/person/1x dinner
6 Course: IDR 1.005.000 net/person/1x dinner

For the additional charge to change dinner from Boneka restaurant to Dulang restaurant is IDR 264,250 net per persons per 1x dinner.

Should you book a room with breakfast only and would like to have dinner at Boneka restaurant or Dulang restaurant then the full charge for dinner is as per attached flyer. I have pasted these below:

I searched back a little way in the thread didn’t find. How does the breakfast amenity work at this property? Is it continental with a paid upgrade for hot items? Or is it complimentary buffet/ al cart for Plat+?

It's a full buffet with an extensive menu of a la carte options, including lobster omelet. All included.

Airport transfers in a luxe alphard are also included in most rates. IIRC the have staff at the airport who will escort you all the way to security.

Perhaps. We paid considerably more for a room at FS Jimbaran and the non-complimentary (i.e., guest pays) airport transport was in a base level Fortuner.

airport transfer

Can someone that got a airport pickup elaborate on how that was communicated and when? I booked on points and there was no mention of the airport transfer. Also breakfast isn't mentioned is it breakfast plus welcome amenity? I am platinum.

Thanks!

Usually the hotel will email you asking about the flight details few days before the check in date.

As for breakfast, if the rate not included breakfast, then it will be part of welcome amenity.
