Stayed at this hotel recently for 5 nights. Loved the hotel - I've seen the rooms at the Westin, Sheraton and W and IMHO - this has the best rooms among all 3. The gym is a little small, but adequate for me.

Was upgraded to the Mega Room and the room was huge with great view of Victoria Square. The front desk staff are amazing and all the staff know and greeted me by name on my second night! Even the Acura agent whom I met once know me by name by the second time I spoke to him.

Plenty of great restaurants around the area, especially if you walk further south on McGill towards Old Montreal. The Victoria Square Métro stop (with the Paris' Métro sign) is just right outside the hotel.

If you’re a fan of W hotels, then look no further! Booked a bi-level Wow suite for the weekend, and it’s quite impressive with a balcony overlooking Victoria Square with a huge bed/sofa to lounge on downstairs. The bed upstairs is ridiculously comfortable. With floor to ceiling windows, there’s too much light in the room on sunny days, and not enough lamps when it’s dark (but it keeps with the W vibe). The only major complaint is that the water pressure in the shower is so low that at first, I wasn’t sure if I even had hot water! With the open shower design (no door), any higher pressure will result in water getting all over the bathroom. A shining example of form over function.

Direct metro access to Square Victoria is available through one of the hotel elevators (floor “SSR2”). The gym is a decent size and nicely furnished. As a plat, you’re able to receive a complimentary continental breakfast as one of your amenities, however there is no option to buy up to a full hot breakfast. Room service was delivered in a timely manner, food quality and presentation were top notch.

The website says the Wow suite will only sleep 3, but realistically could 2 people fit on the sofa bed to sleep 4?

Very good first impression

I just checked in here. Other W experiences include Barcelona, Hong Kong and Seoul.

Walked into the lobby and it was typical W...Wow.

Check in agent was stunning. She must be a part-time model. Must be!

Check-in was efficient and took less than 5 mins. all up. During check-in she mentioned that the temp in my room has been set to X and an Espresso machine has been installed (these are preferences she gets from my Ambassador). ^

Got to the room and it's a duplex Wow Suite on the top floor ^^^^

I am already regretting that I only have two nights here

Unless anything really bad happens in the next 48 hours, this one goes onto my "highly recommended" list. Much better than W Seoul for example.

You don't really need to leave the premises. I'm an old married fogey, but when the DW & I stayed here last summer, it was quite obvious that late in the evening the W's bar was a big draw for chic (and very, very attractive) young people.

My husband is there for a bachelor party. I wonder if he's one of the chic attractive young people?

Open Bathroom Concept

Hello -

We are considering staying here for an upcoming trip to Montreal. It will be our anniversary, so looking for something "romantic." I would like to use points or cash & points, however it appears that the only rooms available with those options are the Cozy Room (open bathroom concept) and two different Wonderful Rooms which specify open bathroom concept, as well as the Wonderful ADA room. There are two other Wonderful Room types that do not specify open bathroom concept but they are not available using points or cash and points (they are also more expensive than the other Wonderful rooms). I no longer have any status so I'm not counting on an upgrade.

Has anyone stayed in either of these room types? Can you explain exactly what open bathroom concept is? I get that the shower is glass and faces the bedroom but what about toilet privacy? I haven't seen this mentioned in this thread so maybe I'm making a bigger deal of it than it is but I'm hoping someone can let me know. Visible shower = sexy. Visible toilet = not.

Thank you!
