ROOM: Our club level room was large, had a nice view, was comfy and had a large flat panel tv. Overall it was clean, but a really good scrubbing especially in the bathroom would be nice. The thermostat was not working properly in the guestroom, it was not cool enough, only mild air was blowing.
I only mention this, as there are very limited options for chain hotels in AC, and I've always considered the Sheraton to be just an "ok" option.
Before the renovation, rooms were more hit and miss at CP. Another plus, is the brand new Qua Spa.
If you were able to pay for access to the Diamond Lounge, this property would be an absolute slam dunk, as the lounge at Caesars (along with the lounge a Bally's) are probably two of the nicest "concierge" lounges in the country. Hugh bars, sweeping views of the ocean, and excellent beverage (premiums such as Grey Goose) and food service (along with expanded hours till 12 midnight on Friday and Saturday evenings).

I decided to stay here as opposed to the casino hotels one Sunday night when Jimmy Buffet played the ORIGINAL Convention Hall (funny story at end of this post)
I am a Gold and on making the reservation online requested an upgrade IF available and thanked them.
I was shocked upon getting my room key to get... A SUITE! It had a nice view of the Atlantic Ocean/Broadway.
Staff was nice and mentioned the Club Lounge. I did not use because I had an early bus (and a Greyhound to boot... GASP!) to catch!
The disappointment came at the TAO? Brew Pub:
*I asked for the Beer tasting menu. The staff person said they were out of three of the six brews. The server DID give me the taster for half price.
*I had the steak which was fatty and a little tasteless.
*Prices were a little high for a brewpub.
I would stay here again... especially next year when Mr. Buffet opens his new Margarittaville casino on the Marina. It would be a bonus if it's linked with SPG.
Ok, my funny story... many Parrotheads stayed at the Sheraton and several of them thought and insisted Jimmy was playing at the NEW Convention Center. I walked them back into the hotel, showed my ticket and the front desk person said "Oh NO! You need to go to the Broadwalk Convention Hall not the one across the street!"
Saved some Parrotheads from a disappointing evening. (the show ROCKED!)
The walk was not bad, even at 11:30p at night. I wished I had time to check out the outlet center.

My first ever PLAT award stay (Atlantic City Sheraton) - any tips?
I never stayed on points, so this will be my first one. I have a few questions for experienced PLATs:
I booked traditional room and requested a rollaway bed to be put in for a child. If they upgrade my at check in - will they still put a rollaway bed? Will Club Lounge be available for my husband and son? If so, should I request extra keys for them at check in or they just need a room number to enter a Club Lounge?
Any other tips?
Thank you!

A: Yes, just make sure to call in to reconfirm or ask again at check-in (reconfirm). For special request situations I like to reconfirm through the Plat Concierge line and not through the hotel itself. The Plat Concierge will make and reconfirm your request with the property.
2. Will Club Lounge be available for my husband and son? If so, should I request extra keys for them at check in or they just need a room number to enter a Club Lounge?
A: Yes. Which property are you staying at? You usually need a key to enter the lounge or swipe in the elevator to get to the club floor.
3. Any other tips?
A: You should be treated the same as a revenue Platinum. Don't let the property try to convince you otherwise.

Lounge access is based on status, so there should not be a problem.
Usually stating your room number when entering the lounge is sufficient.
Any other tips: Don't expect too much !

Than you for the tips! I have been travelling a lot recently and want to treat my husband and son to a 2-day trip to Atlantic City. While husband can go play poker, son and I can go to the pool and visit Ripley museum. Thats why I really wanted to make it special and hoping that we will get upgraded to a nice Suite.
However, I just did search in this forum and see some posts indicating that upgrades to Plats are not granted and Sheraton AC may not even participate in this program....Should I be prepared not to get an access to the Club Lounge?

Thank you for your reply. I think I do excpect much but only because this time this is a family event. When I travel by myself I don't really care what room will I get - I am there for work and as long as my bed is Heavenly nothing else matters

I don't know much about the AC Sheraton, so unfortunately I can't say much.
In terms of club lounge access, this shouldn't be a problem as a Plat.
This thread should give you ample info:

Just curious.. where did you see that this property "may not even" participate in SPG?
[answer: I see where you found it... from what I've seen so far on the SPG website as well as the property information there is nothing that leads me to believe that this property is not a participating member...]

The Sheraton Atlantic City definitely participates in SPG. i booked an awards stay there a few months ago for me and a few friends and were upgraded into the Presidential Suite. As for the lounge, there's a large open common area at right outside the elevators on the club level - it's always stocked with fruit, small snacks and bottled water. They have one of the better lounge breakfasts that I've seen at a Sheraton, and it's "open" weekends as well as weekdays. They'll certainly give you access to it (if you're not already on the club level) as a plat.

I've never had better, but they just JACKED their prices for 2009 even more, effectively pricing me out. I cant justify charging that much to clients when the Westin is next door and much cheaper.

Anyway, I digress...
Green_eyes - looks like you're good to go, based on everyone's responses. You have nothing to worry about.
