I was looking to book a room at the Sheraton AC and I was offered 3 types or room online. Traditionnal, club or corner room (suite) with queen bed. There are Presidential suites here, but those are not offered online as usual. All those corner rooms are smoking! I wish this place was a Westin!

Stayed there about 60 days ago, upgraded to corner King. Room in great shape, well furnished. Bathrooms could use a bit more light, but overall a pleasant stay.
Usually not cheaper than casino rooms, but on occasion they have decent rates.

Are you talking about a regular corner room or are you talking about a corner SUITE... on the website it's a queen bed with the corner suite. Is this the room you're talking about? "700 Sq Ft Sleep/Living Space, Wetbar, Refrigerator, Microwave, Table For 6". (from SPG website)

I couldn't tell you for sure - I just remember the desk agent saying "I could upgrade you to a suite but they are all one king bed only." You might need to call the hotel directly to clarify if it's important to you.

Presidential Suite Sweet upgrade
Last summer I scored a Presidential Suite upgrade on a Sunday night. (I think it was the Presidential Suite, might have some other name).
Huge master bath w/ jet-tub and surround shower. Meeting room, living room with large-screen TV, two bathrooms, modest view of the run-down side of AC. The doors to the patio had been welded shut, however.
Business partner got standard room (no status). I invited him up for drinks before gaming.
Valet was a complete jerk - before he had even unloaded our gear he started complaining that he needed a tip. Jack@ss - he got half the tip he would have otherwise earned.

I would much prefer a king bed, maybe there's a mistake online and the suite stated online with a queen bed really has a king. Queen bed or king bed I don't really care, I just wish someone here stayed or know something about that suite that I described earlier. Did you get the Presidential suite? That one has a King bed...Right?

While AC casino properties are still a few steps below the hotels in Vegas, I still think any of the major casino hotels in AC would probably be a better choice than this Sheraton.

To agree with the poster after you, I only stay at the Sheraton when prices elsewhere are exorbitant. IMHO, the only great hotel / casino property in AC is the Borgata although a few on the strip are passable. The AC Sheraton is not near any casino - especially in winter ;-)

Sheraton Atlantic City recent experiences?
I'm going down tonight. I always stay and play at the Borgata, but this weekend no amount of begging could get me a room. (Appearently, I don't lose enough )
So I'm staying at the Sheraton. What should I expect as a plat? Are suite upgrades common? Is this a run-of-the-mill Sheraton or is it actually a nice place? Is there a casino? (Like the Casuarina?)
Any insight would be appreciated.

J----- Effing Christ this place sounds awful!
I just reserved an internet rate for tonight! I sure hope the host at the Borgata comes through for me...
Stealing change from cars? Angling for tips? At least I'll know to self-park if I have to.
A.C. just can't get it together, can they? Except for the Borgata, they have nothing.

I wouldn't say its awful, then again I didn't use valet parking (came via NJTransit across the street of course :P).
Got a corner room, good sized, can't remember what type of bed though but clean and functional, speedy front desk check-in. Stayed for the points and credits, spent most of my time at the Borgata. Other than the lack of a Casino and I can't comment on valet, I didn't think it was an all too bad hotel, i've stayed in much much worse Sheratons before.

I see that room descriptions and photos has changed on the SPG website. I also see that they now have junior suites non smoking, before all they had was junior suites smoking. Glad they have more N/S rooms now! They also have a hint that club rooms were renovated with LCD tvs, etc... Anyone can add to this? Thanks!

I stayed here in April for 2 nights and was pleased with the property, check-in, and quality of the rooms. Although I did not valet my car, the valets seemed professional and efficient from what I saw.
Although, if you're going to be drinking, you're much better off parking at a casino for $5 for the weekend and taking $9 cabs to the hotel and back when you need to.

Return from AC
Just spent the night here. This is 3rd time at this hotel as SPG Gold over last 4 years. First time was horrible 4 years ago - valet treated my car like garbage and ended up knocking over a potted plant I explicitly told them about - they vacuumed the car, etc. but agree valet was horrible. Second time was slow but professional, yesterday/today was fast and efficient. The valet staff did seem better.
I spoke with Beverly in internal reservations and she was able to pull occupancy and see if I would have a good shot at Gold for a free club room upgrade. She said no problem (Sunday night) so I did not preconfirm; as she stated, it was not a problem - got a room right next to the lounge on the top floor with view of the casinos. Evening food from 4-7 on club level is scallops in bacon, chicken strips, fruit, other things and sodas. Breakfast was generally a continental breakfast - adequate for sure since I'm not a big bfast guy anyways.
LCD in club room - yes - it was 32" LG. Room itself was standard size and was well kept. Only there for 1 night so not sure about housekeeping, etc.
Last comment -used cash & points. $45 plus 2800 points is pretty good for any day of the year there especially with the upgrade. Valet is $17. Cab to Borgata is $10 - $12 including tip and traffic - I'd not deal with valet and just cab to wherever you are going (cabs are easy since convention ctr right there).
Last note. As a gold, you must ASK for the upgrade. They said they don't generally volunteer it to you, but if you ask (as SPG Gold) they will give it to you, plus they then volunteered for late checkout which was nice. I normally don't ask but it was insightful to hear that I should ask.
Enjoy!
