Does anyone know how far the wifi extends? Was it available at all of the pools? on the ocean in front of the resort?
As far as poster who wanted to know about arriving at 9 PM, I was told that wouldn't affect room as they're pre-assigned.

WiFi is spotty around the resort and all internet is very slow (wired and wireless). It really depends where you are.

Here Now
Wife and kid are napping so I thought I'd post. Checked in late last night and got a parking lot/highway/train view in bldg 2 South. Suites have been sold out for the last two months, so I'm guessing it's fairly full. Good thing is, they got me in a corner unit with a big lanai (for a studio), so I can sit outside and drink some Kona beer while the kid sleeps during the day. I'd take that over a distant ocean/pool view.
We're only here for four days, but I got the fifth day free with pts (12k/night) so we don't have to check out five hours before we leave for the airport. They offered a free breakfast buffet coupon for one person if you forgo housekeeping for a day ("go green"), so we just had them skip housekeeping the whole time. We'll be all be able to have breakfast two of our four mornings completely free. I find daily housekeeping to be weird and awkward. Reminds me of being a teenager.

I had my first stay at this new property last week. Here are some observations :
- As a platinum member and Owner at this property, I was given a villa on the 6th floor with wonderful ocean view on my right and beautiful mountain view on my left. Also received all kinds of presents upon arrival, Calendar, fish cards, wooden bottle opener, etc.

Also, they took out the Heavenly double shower heads - that's terrible!!!
I'm SPG plat and was put on the 5th floor.

They gave us a welcome bag on Dec 11. Double shower heads were removed to conserve water and lower the water bill for owners paid through their maintenance fee.

We usually get an owner's gift when we visit the concierge in any lobby and give them our name and villa number. In 2011, it was a bag that could convert into a backpack. 2010 and 2009, a large canvas bag. The first year, 2003, it was either a lovely wooden wine bottle holder OR ceramic sushi plates with chopsticks...
We were sad when they removed the double Heavenly shower heads, too. I think it was at least a couple of years ago. We have stayed there nine times now and love it there, even without the luxury of wasting water in the shower. We've gotten used to some of the cutbacks to try to keep the maintenance fees under control. Hope you are having a great time!

Best Rate
Newbie to all things Starwood (including the website)...
I'm trying to find the best rate for a 1 bedroom villa here in May. It seems that very few of the "special offers"/rates work (even though the dates I'm trying 5/6-5/13 appear as an option); such as 3rd night free, 50% off rack, 35% plus double points, etc. Certainly could be user error...
Is $471 (using "ZB4") for a 1 Bed Island view really about the best I can do/expect?
Thanks in advance!
