However, the question here is whether one can (or can not) get World of Hyatt benefits at SLH properties.
To claim one cannot get any Hyatt benefits at SLH properties is false.

you are replying to a thread about elite benefits so your comparison is slightly off. The benefits at SLH you are referring to are the benefits for booking through Hyatt regardless of elite levels and as some mentioned, is as a result of the (potentially) higher rate. If SLH gives Explorist or globalist benefits (in relation to this thread on Titaniums at Marriott), then it makes more sense IMO.

Contrary to what others say online, I have stopped asking for free suite upgrades and, unlike many of the experienced travelers here, I have never challenged a GM to get a suite. These hotel conflicts definitely hurt guests in the long run, even if they are not aware of it. Hotels are run by people that have their own emotions and opinions. Getting pissy with FDAs over how one is entitled to a suite due to the (in their mind arbitrary) terms of status is supremely unproductive and DEFINITELY leads to comments being made on their profile.
Well no, quoted poster was responding specifically to a claim that booking via Hyatt gets no benefits at SLH.

Speaking from long-time experience in the hospitality industry (including working the FD and in management, not to mention reading probably tens of thousands of guest profiles), FD agents typically don't have the time, energy, or motivation to care much about being badgered for suites much less notating profiles about it. A particularly vindictive GM might but also more likely to ignore than anything else.

booking SLH via hyatt is basically booking the hyatt special SLH rate (which more often than not be higher than booking directly with SLH) that includes a few benefits that appear to be elite benefits but even general members get those.
this thread is about titaniums not getting benefits, not booking a special rate that all members can book and get those benefits regardless.

Just because you and the other FDAs at the hotels you worked for do not care about this does not mean that all other hotels operate the same way. I am positive that at least some hotels read through these profiles after asking about the highly specific (and unsolicited) welcome amenities I have received in rooms. Does it impact pre-upgrades across the board? I doubt it. Is it going to be a factor at some point for someone spending dozens of nights in hotels a year? I would be willing to wager that for many people, it will.
Obviously, this is not an issue for hotels that don't pre-upgrade (ie most Ritz Carltons, most non-luxury properties, many LCs, etc.). I generally agree that FDAs at most hotels don't get paid enough to care about this and definitely would not be taking the time to read anything but the notes on a reservation (and even that's a toss-up these days) during the actual check-in.

please name me a benefit that Hyatt elite members get for booking SLH via Hyatt that standard members dont get (other than accrual bonuses)

Hotels definitely put notes on profiles for guests over very small things per all the data points I referenced in the post you're replying to. Be Aware, All Marriotts Have an Internal System Where they can criticize you!!

There are at least 2 luxury Marriott properties in North America that confirmed they look at guest profiles prior to arrival. To be fair, I did not ask specifically in the context of upgrades (though I did receive upgrades prior to arrival in the app for both hotels). So that in-and-of-itself suggests that you cannot broadly apply your personal experience working as an FDA to every other hotel lol. Respectfully, I don't think working as a front desk agent/employee for some hotels really means that you can dismiss all experiences contrary to your own lmao.
I don't even think that is the biggest (or even close to the biggest) factor contributing to my suite upgrade rate but dismissing it as "lol nonsense" is really not convincing me.

Ok lol. You can call data points contrary to your opinion nonsense.

And again, it was a specific response to a specific claim that Hyatt members (no mention of elites) get no benefits booking SLH via Hyatt. No idea why you're getting so hung up on gatekeeping what you think the thread is about. If you really think it's OT, then contact the mods.
its like me saying Hyatt Explorists / globalist why bother when I can book the Marriott STARS rate at ritz Carlton/edition and still get upgrades and breakfast and such. All members and even non members can those rate benefits as well.

They win the battle but lose the war. I have read every post on the "secret" Marriott guest profile thread and have talked to FDAs and GMs about it on the Hyatt, Marriott, and IHG sides. **For upgrades at the desk, I doubt it matters. For hotels that go through guest lists and pre-confirm upgrades, I am reasonably confident this has an impact somewhere.** This was the only time I have ever had an experience that was even somewhat negative with the staff at a hotel: https://old.reddit.com/r/TalesFromTh...tain_customer/.

It doesn't matter that they're luxury properties. All that matters is that they check profiles prior to check-in (but this is obviously biased toward luxury properties where the staff are better compensated/more interested in hospitality). Here is the comment you wrote:
Which is a broad, sweeping statement about FD agents with no qualification that you are only talking about non-luxury properties lol

At this point it just seems like you're conceding that my original point still stands. Hotels make comments about guests and certain hotels (as I specifically noted) care about these comments. My speculation is that it plays a role in upgrades and people that have had supremely negative interactions with hotel staff are disadvantaged in these situations. Also, it's pretty weird for you to tell me the calm down given that a) you are responding to my posts literally 1 minute after I post them lol 2) you are the one calling my posts nonsense and laughable lol. I'm feeling pretty calm over here bud.

I can only reply to what you write, not what's in your mind. This is exactly what you wrote:
If you meant to specifically exclude luxury hotels and/or hotels that pre-confirm upgrades (imo it seems like you're backtracking lol), it might be helpful to actually put that in the comment you're writing.

So actually read what I wrote then. I said, very clearly and you've even quoted it twice now, that typically FD agents don't bother notating specifically about getting badgered about suite upgrade availability. No mention of whether properties review guest notes pre-arrival (they should, most don't). No mention of whether luxury hotels do it (they all should). No mention of whether FD agents make notes generally (they should). You dreamed the rest of that up because for some reason you're insistent on arguing about nonsense.
