Anyone have recent experience with getting a repeat sign-up bonus? My husband cancelled his SPG card about 10 months ago and I was thinking of having him reapply for the Bonvoy card since we may be taking a trip in November and the points would come in handy. I know what the T&C say but I'm looking for any real-life experience.

Yes, what Christina mentioned is the current policy.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Can you (or anyone) confirm exactly where to see the free night cert? I am waiting but not quite sure where to look. Thanks

Has anyone experienced issues with points not arriving in your Marriott account from Amex?

I did not receive my August points. I called Amex and they said they sent the points on August 24th and it’s Marriotts problem to fix. Marriott has no record of receiving them and they agent had never had this issue before.

Any idea on how I can escalate this?

I had the same issue in August. Marriott told me it would take 3 to 5 days to investigate when I called. It's been more than 5 days and still no changes.

Oh yeah, it's monthly for me. Send off messages to both Amex and Marriott each time. This time Amex said it could take 8 weeks to post. Marriott told me 12 weeks. I replied to Amex to escalate my issue and told then that once they post, the card is going in the drawer. I'll keep it just for the free night cert. I'm done chasing these points every month.

Dear all,

Just wanted to let you know that we have learned from our partnership team that they are in the process of posting points for the Canadian Amex from August. All points should be posted by the end of the week.

If you have not received the points by next week, please let us know and we will help follow up.

Thank you for your patience.

Just to update everyone based on feedback from the lurker. It sounds like AMEX posting for Canadian cardholders is delayed and should be in accounts by end of week. Fingers crossed.

Further update: Amex Canada supervisor called me back. They have discovered an IT issue (shocking, right) where Marriott is identifying all points as being "bonus" points (i.e. sign-up bonus after hitting minimum spend). There is a 2 cycle waiting period to get these types of points issued to Marriott so that is the reason for the delay. They are trying to get it fixed.

Since this is a new issue, they're now allegedly updating front of line customer service staff so they can convey the situation to customers that call.

Points should post 1 month late right now. Meaning if you were owed points on August 30th, it should post September 30th instead. Waiting to see if this is what happens as I am due my points in 4 days.

And yet, it doesn't seem to apply to everyone. No issues here. My last posting was on Aug 27. I'll know in about a week if everything is still OK for Sept posting.
