I finally was able to succeed in combining my two accounts this week. The bug is that prior to merging them, I was at 712 nights and 9 years of Plat with MR (Ritz) so needed one more year of Plat, which I will get this year, for Lifetime Plat. When my accounts combined, the years of Plat went from 9 to 12 so now I'm Lifetime Plat. I don't think it will or should stick. I've never been SPG Plat, except for this/last year after the merger, and certainly was never Plat for 3 years with them. Not a major thing but wondering if they are going to revoke my Lifetime Plat after catching this, although I'll hit the 10th year of MR/Ritz Plat soon enough.

My recollection pre-merger is that you could make a same night reservation until something like 2am on the old website? I had a frustrated call from my wife this week, who was suddenly stranded at an east coast airport due to a storm. I went on the Marriott site at 11:59pm, started to make a reservation, and suddenly at 12:01am every hotel showed "Unavailable"... it would still let me do the search but showed nothing bookable.

Are you talking SPG or Marriott? I know last year I needed to make a Springhill reservation after midnight at the website also was showing unavailable. I called the hotel directly and they still had a room for me.

Another rant that could have been saved but just too annoyed I wanted to kick while they are down.
Booked 2 nights on 08/19 (day after the Apocalypse) at Marriott site, system stole 15K points from my account immediately and gave nothing in return.
Now the stay (08/24 08/26)h ad already passed, and still no response from Marriott Customer No Care after multiple attempts to contact them.

That's called the New & Improved Marriott!!!!!
Seriously, I tried to book several hotels in China in vain. Many properties (both Starwood & Marriott) claimed to be SOLD OUT.
Now I am LPP, and so what! Rant finished.

Had problems cancelling a booking this morning on the website. When clicking 'Cancel', it went to the confirmation but then clicking 'OK' resulted in a page mentioning something about cookies.

Anyway, if anyone has the same problem, here is the URL that works to cancel reservations:
https://www.marriott.co.uk/reservati...opertyId=ABCDE
where 12345678 is the reservation number (used twice in the URL) and ABCDE is the hotel Marsha code.

Actually, that's good news. Means they are still working on issues and there are going to be times exclusive access is going to be necessary. Fortunately the servers we access are not the master servers. Data is moved at various times.

My issues, as of yesterday:

- Marriott Android app *only* shows Starwood brands for a regular paid booking. Search all of San Francisco: zero Marriott, Renaissance, CY, RI, etc. Just Westins, W, Sheraton, etc.
- Marriott.com desktop version won't display the calendar to allow me to select dates for booking. When I manually type into the field (trying various date formats), all cause an error.
- Marriott.com still will not remember my AAA number. This is getting highly annoying - fast.
- My LTPP status shows up in most places, but there are still pages that show Platinum and even one spot that says I'm three nights away from "requalifying" for Lifetime Platinum Premier (I have 72 nights so far this year).

Managed to navigate through and complete one booking by using an individual property's custom website to input the dates. It's an Autograph hotel site that works well and allows me to enter dates. Failed on two others and booked Hiltons instead.

This is a mess, and it's getting worse.

Indeed. Today I'm downloading receipts. Every single one of them, no matter the brand, no matter the location, has the Delta Hotels logo on it...and I've never stayed at a Delta property. Minor, but still shows just how incompetent their IT department is. Doesn't anyone at Marriott actually use their own systems periodically?

I remember reading quite some time ago that Marriott employees are not allowed to be MR members. I don't know if that's still true, but really telling about their confidence in the system and their employees.

I received the following cancellation notice for a hotel that I'm allowed to cancel up to two days before arrival:

If you cancel after 12:00 PM hotel time on Sun, 09 Jun 2019, the forfeiture amount will be a 90 night stay. There may be additional applicable charges and taxes.

A person reported a similar cancellation notice at Al Maha (Dubai) in a thread on the property.

All the reservations at legacy SPG properties went missing from both my account and my wife's this morning. Can't even find them on the SPG side of either account. Anyone else?
