Anyone else unable to select the AAA rate when searching on website?

sohnhh Sep 18, 2018 9:32 pm

I can see the AAA rate but the rate is a lot higher on many properties before the website merger.

Using SNA on SPG reservation prior to the website merger

I could not apply the SNA for SPG reservation that was made prior to the website merger, so I contacted via phone and the agent could help me with this. However, I never received the email confirmation that my SNA certificate was used and the online reservation reflect the prior information before the SNA is being applied. I was wondering fi anyone has similar experience. If I make a new booking, I can apply the SNA via online, but the rate is no longer available. Thank you for reading.

Booking for two days gets a rate of around €500 a night. Fine.
If you click points, it says 50,000 and underneath that the rate is €420 a night, but then sometimes it comes back and says no availability
if you select a single day, there is no availability on Friday and a rate of €380 on Saturday (and now €436 vs. 2 minutes ago)

Booking aborted. I'll try to call the Ambassador line later today.

The website can be very off. I've noticed what you describe and to make matters worse, "sold out" either on the front or at starwoodhotels.com depending on the spectrum of the moon light. It would appear the front doesn't display real-time rates. Filtering out unwanted brands does not work either as I reported on the SPG forum. Unless one knows which hotel is of primary interest, the website is pretty much unusable :td:

Significant Typo

Hello

There is a notable typo on the www.marriott.com website (not the mobile app) when viewed on an iPad.

In the vertical orientation the Benefits Table has an incorrect heading of "50-74 nights/year" for Platinum Premiere Elite (erroneously matching the level for Platinum Elite).

However, in the horizontal orientation (and also the desktop version) the same Benefits Table displays as a matrix with correct column heading of "75-99 nights/year" for Platinum Premiere Elite.

The mobile app does not have this error as it does not include the convenient overview table at all.

Hi polarpacific,

Thank you for pointing this out.

May I ask you to help send a screenshot of the page to below email address so that we can have the appropriate team to correct it?

Not sure if these are covered in the thread already - but i'll go ahead and throw out my critique of the new website.
  • Please move sold out hotel to the bottom of the list when searching for a room in a particular city. I recently tried to book a room in NYC and half of the hotels were sold out. No need to make us scroll through them if they aren't available. The old SPG site put them at the end. Much preferred. The larger the city / more hotels the bigger the potential issue.
  • I miss how with the old SPG website I could view multiple rates for each hotel. For example, I could view the standard rate, AAA rate, points rate and my corporate rate all in one place. The way the website is set up now, I must run a new search for each of those rates individually.
  • The site is super sluggish. The old SPG site was sluggish but this new one is even more so.

It's now asking me every time I visit to track my location.

Too many filters and no sort by Price filter

There was absolutely no need to revise the Marriott website core functionality. Yet corporate leaders at Marriott took a great great website and turned it into a piece of Junk. Not sure I will continue to tolerate their mess. Easier to go full bore on Hilton until someone at Marriott gets a clue and remediates the website.
Sad.

To be fair, you weren't actually even shown how much rooms were for your stay (you were just given first night), so there was plenty of reason to look at the old site. Of course, they could just have taken the SPG site and made it red...

I’m not sure why you’re suggesting they’re still going to change anything. I think they’ve made it abundantly clear on Aug 21, three days into the migration, that mission was accomplished and everyone went home.

For some reason the web site no longer "remembers" me, populating the field with my userid and password. I have checked the remember me box, but my id does not appear in the field. Same browser as ever, but I now also have to type in my lengthy password every time.

Same - Chrome remembers my password, but no more user number save...annoyance #87 with this faux-new site

EuropeanPete Sep 20, 2018 4:30 pm

I have the same issue. Bearing in mind I can't actually book hotels some of the hotel it seemed like a minor annoyance, but still is another disincentive every time for me to explore what's waiting for me on Marriott.com...

Same issue using Chrome. I'm too lazy to type everything in every time I log in so I just click the sign in button and when it comes back telling me something is wrong the fields are now populated correctly. Click sign again and I'm in.
