Did anyone who got platinum premier elite + ambassador in 2018 via events had their ambassador contact them?

ETA: Sorry. I completely missed the "for events" part of the message here. I'll leave my original reply below, however.

-------------------

Yes. I had to wait about 3-4 weeks or so after the August 18th merger, but my Ambassador was assigned, and we found a time to chat. We talked for about 30 minutes or so, asking questions of each other, her gathering information about me and my stay preferences, etc...

Since then, I have contacted her for a couple of missing stays, which she took care of very promptly. (For the curious, the missing stays were from two different hotels, the Gaylord National Harbor and the Residence Inn in Jersey City, where I've been spent probably 30 weeks this year.) Otherwise, it's status quo -- I make reservations through the website, generally speaking, and haven't been having many issues.

How do you get an Ambassador via events? On the SPG side, 100+ SPG only nights are required (which wouldn't include the Marriott Rewarding Events 10 nights per trivial meeting) while otherwise 100+ nights and $20,000 spend is required.

Wondering how that works ... maybe 34 nights at SPG with multiple rooms before the rule changed?

That would work, but no rewarding (or not) events would be needed, although I guess someone could have done MR rewarding events to collect nights toward lifetime status, assuming that these things do count for lifetime.

It's a unicorn that doesn't exist, but it's fun to point as a boogeyman

Amazing data point: Royal Suite upgrade at StR Bal Harbour

So my 5 SNAs for our StR Bal Harbour 5 night award stay didn’t clear as of yesterday...and yet we arrived today and were upgraded to a Royal Suite (2 bedrooms). So I get the massive upgrade and didn’t even use the SNAs.

I’d mentioned to my Ambassador that I’d love this 2 bedroom Royal Suite since we’ll be joined in a few days by our great friends for 2 nights of our stay (using my points for a second award stay). But I didn’t think she’d be able to get it for me. Not only that, but the hotel refunded the points for the second room despite my protests.

Let’s just be clear that the Royal Suite isn’t part of the SNA or standard suite upgrade pool. This specialty suite is the 3rd highest category suite in the hotel.

My Ambassador rocks.

I need a new ambassador

I need a new ambassador. I’ve been in the program for years, and this is the worst I’ve seen. It takes up to five days to get a simple response. Can someone please tell me how to request a new ambassador? I’ve emailed them, but I assume that will also take weekS. She’s gone from a decent ambassador, to a horrible one who does more harm than help.

Congrats! While I sometimes people get benefits as a repeat guest, etc., its clear your ambassador really helped on this! Have fun!

Thanks.

The fastest response ever got from my ambassador, was the response to my email to change ambassadors. I’m not sure what to make of that.
