Depending upon how much time and effort you wish to allocate to food options other than what are available at the hotel or airport area, the property does run a scheduled shuttle to and from the Tong Chung MTR station at Citygate Outlets. There are numerous dining options there.

I do have to say I also had a fantastic stay here. It was exactly what I needed after a long flight from SFO with the family. Booked a standard room, made the request for a suite upgrade a week out (not SNA). Was told space available of course. Approached the desk upon arrival, minutes later was taken to a nice van with cool AC blasting. The 5 minute drive was very comfortable. They handled all of the luggage and some how managed to get to the room faster than we did walking at a normal pace to the elevators for in suite (Deluxe Bay View Suite) check in with the agent who met us curbside as we arrived at the hotel. They provided a fruit welcome plate along with a nice note. The executive lounge breakfast was more than adequate for a quick bite before heading out to the airport the next morning using the scheduled shuttle bus. The lounge was willing to shuttle me in a van but the van wouldn't have been ready in time based on the time I needed to depart by. The room service was also quite tasty for a simple dinner. The execution of this hotel was flawless, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They really know how to treat elites here.
I agree. I stayed there 02JUN after a flight delay forced a crew time out issue. I booked a last minute regular room and messaged the hotel to advise them I would like the shuttle sent and that there were approx. 20 people queued. Bus came about 15' later and then they had an agent stationed at their check in area asking for elites to come forward and non elites to queue in the corrals (stanchions) they have. I was given the 1bedroom suite upgrade which was SOOO nice. Just a shame I was only there for 12 hours.
Great hotel. can't wait to stay again.

Has anybody had success getting a day room at the Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott? I have a flight that arrives at about 6 AM and my onward flight is about 10 PM. When I contacted Marriott Reservations, they said I would have to book 2 nights. Originally, I planned to go into the city for the day or go to the Big Buddha, but want to have a backup plan in place.

Thank you. I did send an email to the hotel and am awaiting a response. Good to hear it is possible. I hope there is availability on my date.

The bus schedule to hotel has been severely curtailed. We waited almost an hour for a bus. Hotel was not clear despite repeated messages if I could take Airport Express, other buses or taxi or if those transportation choices were no longer available.
Bus driver didn't help anyone put luggage on bus, including an elderly couple having problems. When I told duty manager what happened he said there was nothing he could do as an outsourced company.
The exec lounge is closed. They have a tiny area in lobby cordoned off for CL access. 2 front desk agents gave me different opening times. Not well trained as to what schedules are. One told me 10:30pm shut, another midnight. The answer is midnight
I was not given a sheet outlining snack times in club lounge or any benefits.
I called and asked for a couple of extra bottles of water and was denied. First time in a hotel in my life (even in one's where I have no status). So I had to walk down to lobby lounge and grab a few bottles. I can't believe I was denied a couple bottles of water. This upset me as this is in my preferences.
I have stayed here a couple times in past because of meetings at airport area. I'll never stay here again if I have choice. It would've been faster to go into town. I just am doing a 1 night stop over before flying again in morning
Rates not cheap. 1200 hkd but was upgraded to their credit in advance to a suite. I could've taken Hyatt centric at 800 or Hyatt regency at 1100. Or Sheraton at 1100. JW where I like to stay was surprisingly expensive at 2400.
I think basically hotels are charging high rates because people will stay there or not right now with price not being the deciding factor. The Marriott staff told me was running around 20% capacity and that was similar numbers to rest of HK

I have not been there since December, but it sounds like new COP vs their SOP. FWIW, since they moved the shuttle location, if they don't have car service (Tit benefit I believe, but may no longer be doing it under COP), then I take the HK Express from the airport to AsiaWorld-Expo and it is a short walk to hotel and always take the HK Express back to the airport. HK Express is $5.5 HKD (Octopus)/$6 HKD between Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo and very convenient IMO.

I have taken airport express too in past and found it convenient. I wasn't sure if it had been canceled though since no one is doing exhibitions etc. After 4 messages asking with the response always the shuttle bus I have up.
I am lifetime Titanium. I spoke to duty manager. He offered me a car drop off tomorrow. It didn't sou f like it was SOP. He said they do it sometimes for people who go to Marriott rep in airport lobby and ask for directions to shuttle. No one had told me in advance this was a possibility.
After a long flight we didn't like waiting almost an hour. I wont do this spot again.. Mostly becuae of water. Big things for me

Wow very disappointing to hear of the cuts.
But there's no need for bottled water in Hong Kong. The tap water is fine to drink.

in theory, yes. many of the locals drink bottled water or boiled tap water. HK water is fine at the source, but the problem is the pipes. maybe OK at major hotels. To be 100% safe, I would drink bottled water there.

I am sorry to hear of the OPs experience. I have stayed at this Property on several occasions and always have had an exceedingly good experience.

My last stay at this property was January 19th. I had a 10 hour layover before my connecting flight. In the pre-arrival email, I was advised to go to the B5 counter in the arrivals hall of HKIA. When we arrived there, the Marriott Rep requested we take a seat. Approximately 10 minutes later, the rep found us and escorted us out to a Private Transfer to the Hotel. I booked the cheapest room and was upgraded to an Executive Lounge room several days before arrival. When we arrived at the hotel, the Lounge Concierge Associate greeted us curbside and escorted us to a suite for in-room check-in. There was a Thank you note and a bowl of fresh fruit already in the suite.

almost identical to my last stay a few months ago. Always a positive experience.
